With the rapid development of the Internet, the ability of information application has become an important skill for people's survival and development. The improvement of college students' information literacy can promote educational equity and even enhance the country's future comprehensive competitiveness. The level of information literacy of agriculture-related professionals is one of the factors that affect the level of informatization at the grass-roots level in rural areas. The investigation of the information literacy of agricultural college students is helpful to understand the current situation of information literacy of agricultural college students, and has important reference value for improving the information literacy education of agricultural college students and even improving the quality of modern university education.Based on the research results of information literacy both at home and abroad, this paper divides information literacy into four dimensions: information consciousness, information knowledge, information ability and information morality, formulates the evaluation standard of information literacy, and designs the questionnaire of information literacy. The questionnaire survey adopts two methods: offline paper filling and online link sharing. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were analyzed through project analysis, exploratory factor analysis and questionnaire prediction to improve the validity and accuracy of the questionnaire. In addition to the questionnaire survey,a small number of students were also interviewed in a pair of half-structured interviews,so as to reduce the impact of the subjective factors of college students on the research results and further improve the research results.Based on a questionnaire survey of 408 agricultural and non-agricultural majors(including freshmen, senior and graduates)in an agricultural university, and one-to-one interviews with four students, the study showed that:(1)The information literacy of the college students is in the middle level.Among the four dimensions, the level of information knowledge is the highest and the level of information morality is the lowest.(2)College students' information literacy varies according to their grades,English level and major categories:(1)from freshmen to graduates, students' information literacy gradually improves, and there are great differences between graduates and students' information literacy;(2)College students' English level is positively correlated with their information literacy;(3)Information knowledge of college students of different professional categories is significantly poor. The differences are mainly manifested in professional information knowledge, search engine, web page production software and basic program language.(4)non-agricultural majors have higher information ability andinformation ethics than agricultural majors, and their development level in information awareness and information knowledge is comparable.(3)Comparing this study with similar information literacy studies,we find that there are some problems in Agricultural College students, such as weak information awareness, insufficient information knowledge, low information ability and lack of information morality. In addition, the reasons are that college students' awareness of autonomous learning is not strong, the atmosphere of information literacy is not strong and the curriculum of information literacy in Colleges and universities is unreasonable. Finally, based on the investigation results, this paper proposes some strategies to enhance the information literacy of agricultural college students.
