At present,the current high school history textbooks in many provinces are still standard textbooks for ordinary high school curriculum standards arranged in thematic history.This form just emphasizes on the special subjects,but neglects the sequence of events,so that the connects between events are separated,which has a disadvantage for students to form an integrated knowledge system and frame,as well as to cultivate the space-time notion.In order to make up its deficiency in these aspects,improve learning history of thinking and ability,improve the efficiency of high school history classroom teaching,to further enrich the content of the history teaching method.Therefore,the application of the chronology of major events in high school history teaching is studied.This paper focuses on the combination of theory and practice,combining the action research method,literature research method,questionnaire investigation method and interview method to solve the problem.This text is to be divided into six parts.Part one is a brief introduction,which mainly are about its selected topic reason and the significance,the domestic and international research present condition analysis,research content and method,the related concepts and innovative research.Part Two is to discusses the teaching function of big event chronology in high school history classroom.This part mainly discusses the major event chronology to comb knowledge clues,improve classroom efficiency,implement core literacy,improve thinking ability and other functions.Part three is to discuss the creation method of Chronology key events table in the high school history courses.Several methods will be analyzed in this parts,which will include analyzing and comparing chronological order of events between China and west countries,making clear the historical background expanding the periodical events,collating timeline and drawing structure.Part four is to discuss the application of the chronology of major events in different class types.This part analyzes the different strategies of different types of courses from the application of new lectures,senior high school review classes,and exercises.As for part five,it is to discuss its the application status and limitation.Then some of its weakness existed will be discussed,such as the key points of teaching are easy to be blurred,it needs huge time cost,and its guiding function is limited.Finally,part six is to put some feasible suggestions for teachers in the application of event chronology.
