Many studies of social group have shown that the group has a certain impact on their individual members' social behavior, and group identity is also one of the important factors that affect their mental health(Bizumic,Reynolds,Turner,Bromhead,& Subasic,2009;Greenaway et al.,2015;Qing Wang,Guoliang Yu,2016).In the school group, college student identify with their school group will affect the college students' life in a certain extent, especially their mental health.Self-esteem,as an important indicator of mental health,is also an important explanatory variable of social identification for its members' psychological and behavioral influences(Qing Wang,Guoliang Yu,2016;Rong Yin,Feifei Zhang,2015).In 2001,the WHO defined mental health as a state of well-being.Therefore,in the present paper, using social identity and self-categorization theories as theoretical frameworks,we explore the relationship among College Students' School Identification,self-esteem and subjective well-being.Participants in this research included 924 college students from three different categories Universities in Jiangxi Province.Tools are College Identify Scale,Collective Self-esteem Scale,Self-esteem Scale and International Student Survey Scale revised by Zheng Xue.The analysis shows:(1)College students' school identity, collective self-esteem and individual self-esteem are relatively high, which are in the middle level. In subjective well-being,the life satisfaction of college students is at the middle level, the time of experiencing positive emotion is higher than that of experiencing negative emotion.(2)College students' school identity, collective self-esteem,individual self-esteem and subjective well-being have some differences in demographic variables.First of all, boys' school identity, collective self-esteem,individual self-esteem and life satisfaction were higher than those of girls.Secondly, there are differences in school identity, collective self-esteem,life satisfaction and negative emotional experience among different grade students.Life satisfaction and negative affective experience were slightly higher than those of junior students.Thirdly, the school identity, collective self-esteem and life satisfaction of students of different majors are different, that is,the school identity, life satisfaction of science and engineering students is higher than that of liberal arts students, economic management students school identity, collective self-esteem is higher than liberal arts.Between the students of science and engineering and the students of economic management, the life satisfaction of students majoring in science and engineering is significantly higher than that of students majoring in economics and management.Fourthly, the school identity, collective self-esteem,individual self-esteem,life satisfaction and positive emotional experience of the students who preferred to choose the school were higher than those of the students who were forced to choose the school. The students who were forced to choose their own school had a higher negative emotional experience than the students who chose the school first. Finally, the school identity and collective self-esteem of the students studying in the provincial key universities are higher than those of the ordinary colleges and higher vocational colleges. The life satisfaction and positive emotion experience of the key universities and the ordinary college students in the province are significantly higher than those of the students in the higher vocational colleges. The negative emotion experience of the key universities is significantly higher than that of the higher vocational colleges.(3)In the aspect of correlation analysis, college students' school identity, collective self-esteem,individual self-esteem was positively correlated with life satisfaction and positive emotion in subjective well-being.College students' school identity, collective self-esteem,individual self-esteem,life satisfaction and positive emotion were negatively correlated with them.(4)The college students' school identity not only positively predict subjective well-being,but also affected College Students' subjective well-being through the two indirect paths: collective self-esteem and the chain mediating role of both collective self-esteem and individual self-esteem.At the same time,we also found that collective self-esteem plays a mediating role between college students' school identity and individual self-esteem.Individual self-esteem plays a mediating role between collective self-esteem and subjective well-being.
