In 1998,the American Research University Undergraduate Education Boyer Committee published a research report titled "Rebuilding Undergraduate Education: A Blueprint for the Development of American Research Universities",The report makes sharp criticisms on the quality of undergraduate education in American research universities,and proposes that research universities make full use of research advantages and attract undergraduates to participate in research.Since then,American research universities have vigorously implemented undergraduate research systems.On the basis of drawing on American experience,China has gradually begun to implement undergraduate research programs,Tsinghua University implemented the “Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program”(UROP)in 1996,Zhejiang University began experimenting with university student research training programs in 1998,some high-level universities have also carried out undergraduate research training programs.The country has gradually recognized the importance of undergraduate research,in 2007 began to implement the "National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program" to promote the cultivation of undergraduate research capabilities and innovation capabilities to an important position.This paper discusses the significance of undergraduate scientific research training from the macro,meso and micro levels.By collecting information on the science and technology statistical yearbooks of higher education institutions and documents published by the Ministry of Education,analysis of the advantages of research funding,scientific research manpower,scientific research laboratories and scientific research projects in research universities in China,it clarifies the realistic basis of undergraduate research training in research universities in China.The literature research method was used to sort out the history of undergraduate scientific research training in China,on the basis of a macroscopic understanding of the undergraduate research and training activities in China,according to the length of training and the limitation of the theme,the two main types of scientific research training,namely scientific research training programs and subject competitions,comparing and analyzing the characteristics of these two main types of scientific research and training activities.Based on the researchers' discussion of the scientific management system,this paper analyzes the status quo and problems of undergraduate scientific research training from four aspects: support system,management system,incentive system and management object,on the basis of analyzing the reasons,through the reference to the university benchmarking practice,it puts forward suggestions for perfecting the undergraduate scientific research training management system.It is found that the undergraduate research and training support system mainly exists: the source of funds is single,and the lack of social funds.The management part mainly exists: there is no unified management part,the responsibilities are unclear,the management personnel teach less and the professional lacks.The incentive system mainly exists: the mobilization incentives are not paid attention to,the credit incentive system is imperfect,the transformation system is lacking,the excellent awards are set lower,the school-level academic exchange platform is less,the instructor's teaching time conversion details are lacking,the evaluation of the instructor focuses on the results and despise the guiding process.The training process mainly exists,the establishment of the project,the mid-term reply is limited by the subject of the formal project,the motivation for participation is not clear,the frequency of guidance is low.The training process mainly exists: the project,the medium-term defense flow is limited in the form of the subject,the motivation for participation is not clear,and the frequency of guidance is low.On the basis of analysing the ideological understanding and the reasons of the Chinese education system,it puts forward suggestions for improving support,strengthening the construction of unified management departments,improving the incentive system,and correcting the training process.
