Since the Chinese and Thai governments have jointly established a volunteer cooperation project for Chinese teachers in Thailand,schools offering Chinese language courses have sprung up.What kind of teaching mode is adopted is the primary issue to be considered when setting up the Chinese course in the school.Jindapong School in which the author taught for two semesters uses the observation collaborative teaching mode led by Chinese teachers and the Thai teachers to assist manage classroom discipline and translation.It is the most suitable Chinese teaching mode for the primary school in the lower grades,which takes into account the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese teacher and Thai teacher,the cases of students and the orientation of the curriculum.However,its own problems can not be ignored.During the teaching period,the author learned the basic information such as the development history of Jindapong School,the development of Chinese teaching over the years,and the number of students through various channels such as the school enrollment guide,the school’s official website,and the school’s Thai English teachers.Simultaneously,the author collects and analyzes cases of Chinese class under the cooperative teaching mode of Chinese and Thai teachers through teaching practice,class observation and record,and teacher interaction.It is found that in the long run,this kind of observation collaborative teaching mode has a single form of cooperation and cannot be flexibly transformed with the need of teaching.Students can not communicate with Chinese teachers directly,weakening students’ motivation for learning Chinese,at the same time,teachers have a strong dependence on Thai class teacher and lack of communication in language barriers,resulting in cross-cultural communication problems.In response to these existing problems,the author gives corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
