Reading has always been an integral part of Chinese teaching.The traditional "single-text reading teaching method" has the problems of "less content,time-consuming,poor effect,and low efficiency",which always plagues front-line teachers and students.In this regard,in order to create a more efficient Chinese classroom,many excellent language teachers continue to innovate reading teaching methods,and propose a reading teaching method that integrates classroom reading texts—thematic reading teaching.This paper takes the primary schools in urban area of Shunqing district of Nanchong city,whom are currently carrying out the thematic reading teaching,as the survey objects,and comprehensively uses questionnaires,interviews,and listening to classes to conduct in-depth investigations on the Status quo and problems within the objects,and formulate improvement strategies for problems and causes correspondingly.This article is divided into the following five parts:First of all,it mainly draws on relevant theoretical knowledge,clearly defines relevant core concepts,summarizes the characteristics of core concepts,and explains the profound significance of thematic reading teaching.Secondly,this paper formulated the survey on Primary School Chinese thematic reading teaching in urban area of Shunqing district.After sorting out the questionnaire feedback of teachers and students and giving analysis and explanation,the problems and forming reasons in their teaching process were summarized.Thirdly,the author reproduced the typical cases of the theme reading teaching design in the region respectively according to the class type,and analyzed the highlights and improvement points,hence generalized the advantages and dilemmas of Chinese thematic reading teaching design in primary schools in urban area of Shunqing district.In the next part,the targeted and specific improving strategy for primary school Chinese thematic reading teaching in urban area of Shunqing district was proposed according to the analysis results of the questionnaire and the typical case of the teaching design.Finally,the article shifted the stroke from the specific situation of Shunqing district to the general situation,and proposed the practice and thinking of the instructional design of thematic reading in primary schools.Thematic reading is both an innovative educational concept and a viable way to build a large Chinese classroom.At present,the theoretical research on "thematic reading" has a certain foundation,but the actual situation in each region is different.Therefore,the relevant theoretical study and practical research still need to take local practical experience as the starting point,and to stimulate students' reading potential and accumulate language literacy as the end point.Chinese teachers are obliged to change the inefficiency of reading teaching,and promote reading teaching to be efficient and profound in the process of thematic reading teaching.
