Aerobic training is an important part of physical training. The systematic aerobic training for juvenile swimmers is fundamental for stamina, which is the key to training and success. However, for a long time, aerobic training has not been paid due attention to in Chinese grass-roots training for juvenile swimmers, which has hindered their speed endurance. It is crucial to raise the coaches' concern about the importance of aerobic training and improve the system of aerobic training.By using the methods of literature, experts interview, experimentation, mathematical statistics and so on.Referring to the aerobic training results of competitive swimming at home and abroad, combined with the concerns of the psychological and physiological characteristics of juvenile swimmers,a special aerobic training was designed. In this paper,40 juvenile swimmers(average age is 8.3,average training period is 1.5 years, and 20 male and 20 female separately)were chosen as experimental subjects in a certain youth swimming training base and divided them randomly into the experimental group and the control group(20 in each group with 10 male and 10 female). The experimental group received aerobic training for 8 weeks while the control group received the traditional training.Cardio-pulmonary function, physical quality and specialized performance were tested before and after the training, which could further the study of the effects of aerobic training on juvenile swimmers' speed endurance and provide reference and evidence for the promotion of aerobic training. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in cardio-pulmonary function, physical quality and specialized performance. After the 8-week training,in terms of aerobic ability,The improvement rate of the maximal oxygen uptake index in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P < 0.01),and there were significant differences in maximal oxygen uptake index in both groups(P<0.01),while no difference in the change of heart rate index. In terms of physical quality, the two group both experienced remarkable improvement, while there is no significant difference in the improvement in two groups(P>0.05).In terms of specialized performance, after training, there was no significant difference in 100 m free style in the two groups(P>0.05),while significant differences in 400 m free style(P<0.01).The improvement rate of 400 m free style in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group. As a whole,cardio-pulmonary function, physical quality and specialized performance of the two groups were all improved to some extent after the experiment, but the improvement of the experimental group with aerobic training was significantly better than that of the control group with traditional training. Therefore, aerobic training is supposed to be paid attention to and increased accordingly in juvenile swimming training for their better development in the long run.
