Case Design Of Geographical Investigation Activities Based On The Training Of Core Quality Of Geography Discipline For Senior High School Students

The Ministry of Education promulgated "Geography Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 edition)" put forward the basic idea of "cultivating students' essential core qualities of geography",so the cultivation of core qualities of geography has become particularly important.Practice,experience and learning by doing are the only ways to cultivate core discipline literacy.Geographic survey,as an important geographic practice,is helpful to the formation of students' core discipline literacy.Taking the urban area of Erdos City in Inner Mongolia as an example,this paper designs a case of geographic survey activities based on the cultivation of high school students' core geographic literacy.On the one hand,it can enrich the curriculum resources of geographic survey activities,on the other hand,it can provide reference for front-line geographic teachers.The main research results and conclusions of this paper include the following aspects:Firstly,the theoretical basis for carrying out geographic survey activities is discussed from two aspects of educational psychology and geographic science.This paper analyses the typical cases of senior high school students' geographic survey activities in monographs and three geographic education periodicals,summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing cases,and obtains inspiration from the case design of geographic survey activities.Secondly,it summarizes the composition of geographic survey cases and draws the flow chart of case design.The basic composition of the case includes seven parts,namely,the location and introduction of the investigation site,the investigation subject and objectives,the investigation content,the investigation preparation,the investigation stage,the summary research,the summary and evaluation of the results,and the expansion of exploration.Thirdly,the content of survey activities in the 2017 edition of geography curriculum standard for senior high schools and the teaching resources of human geography in urban areas of Ordos City are analyzed,and the typical resources suitable for geographical survey activities in urban areas of Ordos City are screened out by combining the two.After investigating the related resources in the urban area of Ordos City,under the guidance of the principles of scientific,feasible,enlightening and typical case design.Based on the cultivation of core literacy of geographic disciplines,geographical investigation cases of industrial location factors,urban landscape,transportation modes and traffic layout were designed:(1)Industrial Location Factor Investigation Activities-Take Ordos Cashmere Group Dongquan Clothing Co.,Ltd.as an example;(2)Urban Landscape Observation and Survey Activities-Taking Kangbashi New District as an example;(3)Transportation Mode and Transportation Layout Investigation Activities-Take Dongkang Expressway as an example.Fourthly,for the purpose of cultivating the core quality of geography discipline,some students of No.3 Middle School in Ordos City were led to carry out the investigation of industrial location factors,and the case was rethought and evaluated.The matters needing attention in the implementation of geographical investigation activities were summarized.There were three points: the implementation of geographical investigation activities needed to achieve the corresponding geographical teaching objectives;the implementation should be student-centered;The implementation of geographic survey activities should be organically combined with classroom teaching.The evaluation of survey activities should focus on the degree of attainment of the core accomplishment of geography and set up relevant evaluation indicators.
