Under the influence of China's economic system reform,large-scale population movements have been common since the 1980 s.The social problems such as the employment of floating population and the education of floating children are becoming more and more serious.This study combines the definition of migrant children's extracurricular reading ability at home and abroad with the research results of other scholars,and combines the professional methods of group social work with the field of migrant children's extracurricular reading.Supported by humanism and social learning theory,this paper summarizes and summarizes the current situation of migrant children's extracurricular reading ability in Guiyang Y school by means of questionnaires,interviews,observation and other methods,and carries out questionnaires,personal interviews,role-playing and game-sharing activities for migrant children themselves,families and school teachers through group work methods.The migrant children's extracurricular reading ability has some problems,such as weak reading consciousness and habits,unclear reading methods and purposes,etc.The migrant children themselves have been analyzed from many aspects,and the specific level of intervention activities have been carried out.Through awareness and habits training group and method guidance activities,the study found that the awareness and habits of team members are gradually improving.And through the explanations of parents and school teachers,migrant children also have a new grasp of reading methods.The purpose of this study is to promote the improvement of migrant children's extracurricular reading ability and their all-round development,and better integrate into school life and urban social life.Using interviews and questionnaires to evaluate the effectiveness of group intervention,this paper reflects on the shortcomings and limitations of social workers and group work intervention for migrant children,with a view to making a positive attempt to expand and extend the practical field of social work in China in the future.
