In this paper,Thai high school edition of < Experiencing Chinese> textbook and workbook are taken as the object of study.Through literature analysis,comparative analysis and questionnaire survey,it studies the deficiencies in the design of matching exercises and their practical application.In view of the existing problems,it puts forward some suggestions for improvement based on the relevant theoretical knowledge of the compilation and practice of teaching materials for Chinese as a foreign language.Besides the preface and conclusion,this paper has four parts.In the first chapter,the design background of the exercises is briefly introduced from the aspect of textbooks,and then the textbook exercises and workbook exercises are carefully analyzed from the angle of question type and quantity according to the literature analysis method.It is found that the assignment of exercises is unsuitable,and the amount of phonetic exercises is much more than other exercises;Grammar exercises are mostly in the form of communicative exercises,and lack of specific concentrated exercises.It is more scientific to add exercises that allow students to type with computers.The second chapter compares the matching exercises of Experience Chinese with Happy Chinese from four aspects: textbook,layout design,topic type and topic quantity.The differences in teaching objectives between Experience Chinese and Happy Chinese determine the differences in practice design principles.The designs of font and pinyin annotation have some problems;the exercises are difficult and similar;the amount of questions is moderate,but the pertinence is insufficient.Chapter three makes a questionnaire survey on the actual use of the matching exercises of Experience Chinese.After analyzing the results of the questionnaire,it is found that the use of the exercise book is not the same as expected.In practice,the exercises are not enough to meet the real needs of learners.Chapter four gives some suggestions on the design of the matching exercises of Experience Chinese.In the aspect of layout design,we should pay attention to the choice of Chinese character fonts,mark Pinyin properly for practice,and set the order of questions step by step.In the aspect of question size,we should integrate textbooks and exercise books,improve the efficiency of use,and allocate the amount of exercises reasonably,so that students can develop their listening,speaking,reading and writing skills in a balanced way.In the content of exercises,we should pay attention to the diversity of exercises and provide more targeted,scientific and interesting exercises for students.
