Prose teaching has always occupied an important position in Chinese teaching in middle schools.Compilation of this language teaching materials in the anthology gave a greater proportion of prose,the selected essays are rich in content and most of them are classic ones,which play an important exemplary role in the improvement of students' knowledge and ability as well as their emotional attitude and values.But,the question of "what to teach" in prose teaching has always been controversial,Frontline teachers are also troubled in the teaching process.When determining the teaching content,they tend to be very casual,most of them are based on experience or teaching reference to determine the classroom teaching content,not based on the teaching requirements of Chinese subject and prose stylistic characteristics to determine the appropriate teaching content.and often determine the teaching content based on experience or teaching reference.This leads to the improvement of students' Chinese literacy is a lot slower,can not well meet the requirements of the curriculum standards.Therefore,the reasonable positioning of prose reading teaching content needs to arouse the attention of teachers.This paper starts from the perspective of determining the teaching content of prose reading in junior high school,problems in prose teaching are found through questionnaires and interviews,corresponding countermeasures are put forward to solve these problems.There are five parts in total: The first part is the introduction,mainly expounds the reason,purpose and significance of the research,as well as the current research status of this subject,the research content and research methods of this paper.The second part is an overview of prose reading teaching,mainly defining the concept of prose and prose reading teaching content,and detailing the characteristics of prose at the same time.The third part is prose teaching requirements,here is a detailed analysis of the requirements of the curriculum standards,teaching materials,and Chinese examination syllabus for prose reading teaching,it provides the theoretical basis for the strategy research of prose teaching.The fourth part analyzes the problems in determining the teaching content of prose reading in junior high school based on the survey data,problems in the determination of teaching content of prose reading in junior high school include: the dialogue with the text is neglected in the process of determining the teaching content of prose,it is difficult for teachers to specify the Suggestions in the curriculum standards,weak awareness of teaching materials and difficulty in grasping students' learning.The fifth part is the strategy to determine the teaching content of prose reading,taking Mr.Fujino as an example,from four angles of curriculum standard,learning situation,teaching material and text,this paper puts forward some Suggestions for determining the teaching content of prose reading.
