Due to failure of well coping with educational and life pressures coming from their students,families,colleagues and school,rural teachers show different degree of occupational burnout both physically and mentally,including emotional exhaustion,de-individuation and low sense of achievement.Rural teachers' occupational burnout has negative impact on their interpersonal communication,work enthusiasm,and mental health.Teachers who are tired of their career are likely to treat students coldly.Also,they are usually less passionate about their work or even give up their jobs.In terms of physical and mental health,most of them often feel less energetic and get insomnia,which makes contribution to their anxiety and impulsivity.As to their personal relations,they are not willing to take part in group activities,and they are more likely to trap into dilemma in communicating with others.Through investigation,the paper points out the reasons why rural teachers suffer from occupational burnout,including heavy pressures from work,low income,unreasonable social expectation,teachers' personal characters and some family factors.And this will help education department to find effective solutions to this problem.Based on cognitive behavioral therapy and strength perspective theory,the study aims to help one rural teacher to get rid of occupational burnout by contradicting irrational beliefs,providing relaxation training and public educational resources to her.Furthermore,the study explores the roles of case work playing in this process,and put forward some suggestions to prevent from rural teachers' burnout.
