Identification And Choice Of Social Workers' Ethical Dilemma

In the past decade,the practice of social work has developed rapidly in the mainland of China.However,the current development of social work ethics in the mainland is not coordinated with the development level of local social work practice,and the ethical construction of local social work professionals is not yet sufficient.This paper takes the emergence of professional ethical dilemmas of social workers,the identification of ethical dilemma and the tendency of choice as the main entry point of the research.First of all,on the basis of literature review,this paper uses interviews to collect social ethical dilemmas encountered by social workers during work,and summarizes the types of ethical dilemmas that social workers face in the service.Such as whether to keep a secret or not,professional relationship and dual relationship,the owner self-determination and other aspects of ethical dilemmas.On this basis,taking professional social workers in Guangzhou as the research object,a questionnaire was compiled to measure the emergence of ethical dilemmas of social workers,the identification of ethical dilemmas and the tendency of choice,and the data of this study were collected.At the same time,it is found that social workers encounter professional ethical dilemma in the service,which has a certain universality;At present,social workers in mainland China have a strong ability to understand professional ethical dilemmas.More than 70% of social workers can identify five kinds of ethical dilemmas,but their ability to distinguish non-ethical dilemmas is relatively weak.The tendency of social workers in an ethical choice is unclear,and most of them are wandering between "uncertainty" and "disapproval".Social workers are often caught in a dispute between the traditional idealized choice and the local rational choice.In addition,this study also finds that when social workers make choices,they are prone to produce the sixth kind of dilemmas in addition to the ethical dilemmas of the above five types of social workers,that is,the "second dilemma" of social workers' ethics proposed in this paper.Finally,based on the above problems,this paper uses Coleman's rational choice theory in the perspective of localization,in order to maintain and gradually improve the identification of social workers' ethical dilemma and clear the tendency of social workers' ethical dilemma choice.On the basis of the analysis of the data and interview data obtained from the questionnaire,combined with the local cultural context of our country and the rational choice thought of the West,this paper puts forward that the construction of the professional ethics of social work in our country.We need to construct the concept of local ethics,deconstruct the idealized choice of the outside and construct the rational choice of the native.Furthermore,in order to improve the identification of social workers' ethical dilemmas and reduce the emergence of social workers' ethical dilemmas,we should pay attention to the professional growth of new practitioners in the industry,strict industry access and strengthen vocational qualification education.Accurately define the concept of service object and the meaning of universal service object and special service object;In order to regulate the tendency of social workers' ethical choice,we should separate the service field of social work reasonably,such as the special service field defined as the social work service field and the conventional service field,and so on.The original ethical choice in the field of conventional service should be preserved,and the idealized choice should be gradually deconstructed and the rational choice should be constructed in the field of special service and local service.In order to promote the process of localization of social work ethics in China,and continuously promote the formation of social work industry norms and industry standards,provide more practical guidance for the judgment and decision-making of local social workers,and gradually utilize the positive impact of the ethics and values of local social work on social workers.It will lay a solid foundation for the development of specialized and professional social work in our country.
