An Empirical Analysis Of The Effect On Employment Growth By Technology Spillovers Between Industries Of China

Manufacturing has always been an important part of solving the employment problem in China.With the encouragement of the policy about innovation,can technological innovation in industrial sectors of the manufacturing industry increase employment? And what impact will the technology spillover that is inseparable from technological innovation affect employment growth? The existing research results show that technological innovation has a dual impact mechanism on employment growth,and the impact are different under different circumstances.However,The impact of technology spillovers on employment is included in the impact of technological innovation on employment,and these studies do not distinguish between the impact of technology spillovers on employment and the impact of technological innovation on employment.Based on a large number of existing research on technology spillovers,technological innovations,and employment,this paper puts technological innovation,technology spillovers,and employment in the framework,and adds import and export trade volume as a control variable for research.This paper uses the data of 21 industrial sectors in the manufacturing industry from 2005 to 2013 to analyze the impact of technological innovation and technology spillovers on employment,and focuses on the impact of technology spillovers on employment.The following is the main conclusion of this paper.Firstly,it is found that technology spillovers have significant employment promotion effects in manufacturing through the empirical research.Specifically,technology spillovers have a positive effect on employment in low and medium technology industries,but have no significant impact on employment in medium and high technology industries.Second,technology spillovers also have an impact on employment through the amount of capital and the number of firms in industrial sectors.When technology spillovers are combined with capital,they have a negative impact on employment.When technology spillovers are combined with the number of firms in industrial sectors,they have a positive impact on employment.However,the amount of capital itself plays a positive role in promoting employment,and the number of firms has a negative effect on employment.Third,the total output value of industrial sectors can increase employment,indicating that the larger the scale of production,the more employment opportunities are provided,and the unemployment rate is contained to a certain extent.Fourth,the export value of products has a significant positive effect on the employment,indicating that the growth of export volume can create more employment opportunities,and increasing export strength is conducive to improving the overall employment level.Therefore,the government should still encourage technological innovation in all industries.And it is helpful to clear barriers to the overflow channels for technology spillovers without violating the laws of intellectual property.Formulating various policies to support manufacturing enterprises is also necessary for government,it can make firms to expand their production scale and provide more employment opportunities for workers.At the same time,international markets deserves more attention.
