The harmonious relationship between high school teachers in charge and students lays the foundation for work and study,interpersonal communication and mutu al development,which directly affects students' learning interest and attitude,and the ph ysical and mental health of both.It is essential for students to form correct outlook on li fe and world,as well as values.In recent years,malignant events occurred between teachers and students have spar ked strong revulsion in society,most of which happened in high school,between the tea chers in charge and students.People are reconsidering about the problems of our educati on.Why is it difficult to develop harmonious studentteacher relationship? Why students are so fragile nowadays? Moreover,teachers' physic al punishment on students has always been an existing issue,as well as the verbal violen ce,which does great harm to students.Despite of the individual cases,it reflects the pro blems between teachers and students of the day.Thus,this research intends to conduct a study on this issue.Research methods of this study combine quantitative and qualitative techniques,do cument review and field study,consulting plenty of literature achievements,so as to tea se out the characters of studentteacher relationships,especially between teachers in charge and students.This research t akes the teachers and students in Senior Two of W school in Mianyang as the object of study,making summary on the current status of the relationship.Adopting narrative tec hnique to study typical cases,the author gets close to the class management of Mr.Tan,an excellent headteacher of Senior Two,to do track records,which contributes to a vivi d and detailed description of their efforts to build up harmonious relationships.Afterwar ds,field texts are developed based on reflection and conclusion.Through the research findings,various factors lead to the disharmony in relationshi ps,for instance,the evaluation criterion on students,age and expert of a teacher,differe nces of emotion management and role expectation,invalid communication,moral cultiv ation of a teacher,students' disrespect and distrust,and the existing problems in studentsthemselves.Concerning the specific issues,teachers are advised to strengthen the const ruction of ethics,educate students with sincere love,and mastet the arts of education.S uggestions given to students are that they should cultivate awareness of gratitude,respe ct teachers and teaching,and attach importance to own physical and psychological healt h.Moreover,schools are expected to create an atmosphere of respecting teachers and te aching,establish reasonable evaluation system and safeguard the legitimate rights and i nterests of students and teachers.
