In 2002,the Ministry of Education issued the < Notice on Actively Promoting the Reform of Evaluation and Examination Systems in Primary and Secondary Schools >,and pointed out: Evaluation methods should be diverse,in addition to examinations or tests,it is also necessary to study and formulate scientific,simple and easy evaluation methods that are easy to use by evaluators.The 2013 < Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Promoting Comprehensive Evaluation Reform of Elementary and Secondary Education Quality > pointed out: To improve the evaluation method,combine quantitative and qualitative evaluation,and focus on comprehensive and objective collection of information.Under this background,Elementary education schools have begun to explore new evaluation methods.Some schools have tried to apply performance assessment to the final assessment of the lower grades of primary schools.Their novel forms and interesting contents have received extensive attention.In the upsurge of performance assessment in schools,we need to think coldly: what is the nature and connotation of performance assessment,how to use performance assessment in the final assessment of the lower grades of primary schools,and what problems exist in practice.Based on this,it is necessary to use a combination of theory and practice to explore the design and implementation of performance assessment in the lower grades of primary schools.The theoretical research part mainly reviews the literature,systematically sorts out the relevant theories of performance assessment,introduce performance assessment in detail from the conceptual connotation,theoretical basis,essential characteristics etc.analyzes the guidingsignificance of constructivist theory and multiple intelligence theory for performance assessment.emphasizes that its goals focus on Complexity ability,and the task is based on real situations.The criterion embodies the characteristics of multi-dimension stratification,evaluation results and performance processes.On the basis of theoretical research,the theoretical basis for the construction of the performance assessment system for lower grades of primary school is analyzed in detail from the perspectives of the life growth,cognitive characteristics,training objectives etc,and it is proposed that the performance assessment of lower grades in primary schools should follow the development,Comprehensive,interesting and Actionable principles.On this basis,a performance assessment system for the lower grades of primary school is constructed from the aspects of determining evaluation objectives,determining evaluation subjects,designing evaluation tasks,formulating evaluation rubric,and using evaluation results.The Primary School Affiliated to H University began to explore the performance assessment of the lower grades in 2015.On the basis of in-depth on-site comprehensive observation,in-depth interviews,and text analysis,it showed the practice of its performance assessment of the lower grades,and reviewed it with the constructed performance assessment system.Due to its experience and deficiencies,it was found that during the implementation of the performance assessment at the end of the the Primary School Affiliated to H University,there are problems that the target positioning is biased,the comprehensiveness of the evaluation task,the scientific evaluation criteria to be improved,and the simplified evaluation results.The main reasons for these problems include: imperfect system design brings "change resistance","path dependence" on traditional examination evaluation methods,teachers' lack of awareness andability to use performance assessment,etc.In order to improve the evaluation effect of the Primary School Affiliated to H University,it is recommended to improve the evaluation system design,standardize the evaluation design and implementation,update the test evaluation concept,establish the value pursuit of educating students,and enhance the consciousness and ability of teachers as the evaluation subject.Placing the performance assessment of the lower grades of Primary school in the long history of the development of education evaluation,and reflecting on its shortcomings and future development direction will help to clarify its positioning and its future direction.The performance assessment of the lower grades of Primary school has some disadvantages such as difficulty in guaranteeing reliability and validity,higher evaluation cost,and higher requirements for evaluators.However,it also plays a role in paying attention to the student's dominant position,promoting teachers' professional growth,and changing the school's evaluation ecology.It is the future development direction of performance assessment in the lower grades of the Primary school to give full play to the ontological function of evaluation and educating people,build a balanced and integrated student evaluation system,and characterize and standardize evaluation design.
