As one kind of genres which cannot be ignored in Chinese textbooks for middle school students,letter is of great importance.Letter can be used to exchange information,convey feelings or ideas,moving us a lot for the true sentiment and wise thought glittering inside.It is not only a tool but also full of humanity.Letter-teaching meets the needs of students' life-long development and is also a response to the call of inheriting the excellent Chinese traditional culture.There have been many achievements of letter study in fields of literature,philology,sociology,etc.,while letter-teaching strategy for middle school students has not been explained or even discussed enough.This paper takes the selected letters in Chinese textbook prepared by the Ministry of Education for middle school as the research object,analyzes the value of letter-teaching in this period and puts forward some teaching strategies for reference.In light of the above ideas,this paper is developed in the following chapters:The concept of letter is analyzed in the introduction part.The scope of letters in middle school Chinese textbook is also defined.This chapter briefly introduces reasons and significance of choosing this topic basing on the research status quo and explains the research methods.In the first chapter,this paper summarizes the classification of the selected letters of Chinese textbook prepared by the Ministry of Education from several aspects such as content of letters,the publicity of letters and the relationship between writer and recipient,and explores the characteristics shown under different categories,basing on which this chapter then concludes the practical significance of letter-teaching in middle school.The second chapter excavates the internal teaching requirements of letters under the guidance of the 2011 edition of the Chinese curriculum standards for Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as the curriculum standards)and the assistant reading systems in textbooks.Current situation and the deficiencies reflected of letter-teaching in middle school is also discussed in this chapter.There are several factors providing an advantage for middle school letter-teaching,when analyzing limitations could also broaden the horizon of this study.The third chapter puts forward several teaching strategies and evaluation methods for middle school letter-teaching activity.It is strongly recommended to adopt the model of topic teaching method.Front-line Chinese teaching needs to set up vivid teaching situations to get better effect and pay great attention to the way of teaching letter's stylistic knowledge.Implementation of emotional education is strongly encouraged in the teaching process while the audience awareness training is highly recommended for every teacher and student to pay serious attention to.Students are also expected to master the skills of writing a letter.Under the guidance of the idea of advocating multiple evaluation subjects and attaching importance to the all-round development of students,this paper evaluates the letter-teaching in middle school by the Chinese textbook prepared by the Ministry of Education.The individualized evaluation method should be adopted as far as possible,in order to improve teaching process.
