Reading ability is bracketed with scientific ability and mathematical ability by PISA Test,which shows that reading ability plays a very important role in international studies.However,the results of the questionnaire among students and interview with teachers in Mingfa Binjiang branch of Nanjing No.1 High School show that both teachers and students pay less attention to scientific reading in physics study.It is mainly because the teaching hours are not enough,and this question is not included in Nanjing high school entrance examination,so scientific reading is not cultivated in the classroom.In 2017,the Ministry of Education proposed the concept of "physical core literacy" in the physics teaching of senior high school,and scientific reading plays a certain role in the cultivation of it:through reading,students can improve the ability of knowledge expansion and transfer;through reading,students can review the physical processes and methods,and develop scientific thinking;through reading,students can also develop a variety of scientific attitudes and social responsibility.Based on this,I have formulated some training strategies:first,re-read the knowledge system to form basic physical concepts;second,review the process of scientific discovery to practice scientific thinking;third,reproduce classic experiments to experience the process of scientific exploration;fourth,read the biographies of physicists to enhance scientific attitude and responsibility.According to these reading strategies,I selected some reading materials,set the experimental class and the control class.In the experimental class,I developed a reading plan based on textbooks,school-based curriculum,noon break exercises and weekend reading,aiming to systematically and comprehensively improve the students'scientific reading ability,so as to achieve the purpose of improving the students' physical core literacy.This paper also selects and analyzes some teaching cases.At last,I made three tests with different purposes and methods among the experimental class and the control class.Based on the analysis of the test results through SPSS and other software,it was found that the experimental class was significantly better than the control class.Because the only variable of the experiment is scientific reading,a conclusion can be drawn that scientific reading can improve students' physical core literacy to a certain extent.Finally,in the conclusion,I summarize the whole process of the experiment and list some shortcomings.At the same time,I am looking forward to the future of this research area,hoping that this paper can arouse more scholars to study the relationship between scientific reading and the cultivation of physical core literacy.
