As "whole book reading and discussion" is clearly incorporated into "General High School Chinese Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)"(hereinafter referred to as "Curriculum Standards"),it should be permeated into the whole-stage high school study.Curriculum design,teaching implementation and examination evaluation are also important topics in the field of high school Chinese curriculum research.As Suhomlinski once said,"Students read very little in class,but they talk a lot about reading." The concept of reading whole book is proposed,which is exactly a good opportunity for students' deep reading and improvement of reading ability.This paper consists of five chapters.The first chapter is a brief introduction of the origin,current situation,significance and methods of the research.In the second chapter,the author defines the relevant concepts of whole book reading,such as the whole book reading and the whole book reading teaching,and then compares the similarities and differences between the whole book reading,fragmented reading,extracurricular reading,and special subject learning,and points out that whole book reading is theoretically based on constructivism and the theory of dialogue teaching.In the third chapter,the author analyzes the value of reading the whole book of "The Analects of Confucius",which is mainly embodied as language value,cultural value and practical value.The fourth chapter is an introduction of the teaching design of the whole book of "The Analects of Confucius".Firstly,this chapter briefly explains the teaching goals and teaching objectives,including language objectives,thinking objectives and thoughts,and personality objectives.To achieve the relevant goals,this chapter has provided detailed design of the whole course with corresponding course arrangement.In terms of reading methods,under the premise of comprehensively using multiple methods,this chapter particularly emphasizes "vertical and horizontal reading method".To consolidate the training achievements,students are required to follow procedures according to the booklist.The training of reading the whole book of "The Analects of Confucius" is divided into three stages in proper order: preparation for reading,preliminary reading,and re-reading,with different tasks at each stage respectively and interdependent with each other at the same time.To test the reading effect,this chapter designs the reading teaching evaluation of "The Analects of Confucius",that is,process evaluation and final evaluation.In the fifth chapter,based on the whole book reading teaching practice of "The Analects of Confucius" in Class 635,Grade one of Yueyang No.1 Middle School,this chapter obtains relevant data of the reading teaching of the whole book of "The Analects of Confucius" through surveys.Then,this paper initially summarizes the relevant experience in the teachingpractice process,and provides some reflections on some existing problems.The characteristics of this paper lies in combining theory with practice.Under the guidance of the current high school curriculum standards and relevant education teaching theories,this paper refers to predecessors' teaching achievements.And then,this paper carries out whole book reading education teaching practice,and concludes some experiences,and compares advantages and disadvantages.These explorations can possibly provide certain references for subsequent whole book reading,especially for reading the whole book of "The Analects of Confucius".
