China has been a country of poetry since ancient times.Whether in the Book of Songs,the Songs of Chu,or in the Yuefu folk songs of Han dynasty,poetry of Tang dynasty,Ci poetry of Song dynasty,Sanqu of the Yuan and Ming dynasties,Chinese ancient poetry has become an important literary heritage and cultural carrier of our country with its diverse styles,rich contents,abundant emotions and excellent artistic expression.Influenced by the culture of Confucianism,the tradition of poetry teaching is continuous.Scholars of each dynasty have been influenced by poetry in their growing up.But today,in senior high school which is the best time for students to close to poetry reading,poetry appreciation and poetry creation,the efficiency and effect of ancient poetry teaching are not very satisfactory.The alienation between students and the Chinese ancient poetry is seen to be thought-provoking.Since the 21st century,under the influence of new curriculum reform,traditional teaching model has been greatly impacted.New teaching concepts,new teaching models and new teaching methods are constantly flooding into the lessons of basic education,and the learning theory of Constructivism has the most far-reaching influence among these.As one of the three teaching modes of Constructivism,The Scaffolding Instruction has also been developing and gradually goes from theory to practice,which has been more and more widely applied in primary and secondary education in China.Applying The Scaffolding Instruction into the teaching of ancient poetry in senior high school can not only absorb the essence of traditional Chinese poetics,but also provide some new ideas for the practice of teaching.This combination is good to enrich the related theories of ancient poetry teaching and rebuild a more efficient and dynamic ancient poetry lesson as well.This article mainly used the literature research method,case analysis method,combined with practical investigation and questionnaire survey,to explore the application of The Scaffolding Instruction in the teaching of ancient poetry in senior high school.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part:Describes the relevant situation of this article.The second part:The concepts of "Learning Scaffolding" and "The Scaffolding Instruction "are defined again.Sums up and analyzes the theoretical basis based on the constructivism learning theory,the cognitive flexibility theory,the complexity thinking theory,Vygotsky's sociocultural theory and "Zone of Proximal Development" theory to explain why The Scaffolding Instruction can be applied to the ancient poetry lesson in senior high school.The third part:Based on the effect of teaching practice and the results of questionnaire survey,explores the realistic value of the combination between The Scaffolding Instruction and the ancient poetry teaching from the three aspects which including reforming learning modes,realizing deep reading and improving teaching disadvantages.The fourth part:Summarizes and analyzes some learning scaffolding used especially for the teaching of ancient poetry."Language Scaffolding","Allusion Scaffolding" and"Recitation Scaffolding" are mainly used to promote the understanding of poetry content."Example Scaffolding","Background Scaffolding","Culture Scaffolding" and "Emotion Scaffolding" are mainly used to promote the comprehension of poetic emotion."Contrast Scaffolding" and Theoretical Scaffolding" are mainly used to promote the taste of poetry art.The fifth part:Explores the basic procedure in which The Scaffolding Instruction can be applied to the class of ancient poetry efficiently.In the early phase,determines the zone of proximal development and teaching objectives.In the middle phase,learning scaffolding should be set up during many kinds of student activities such as "entering the situation","independent exploration","teacher-student dialogue" and "student-student collaboration".In the last phase,removes all the learning scaffolding and do some migration and effect evaluation.The sixth part:Summarizes the main results and achievements of this article and then analyzes some shortcomings.
