It has been more than two years since the 2017 edition of the high school art curriculum standard was published,and art teachers are paying more and more attention to cultivating students' five core art qualities of image reading,art expression,aesthetic judgment,creative practice and cultural understanding.Among these,guiding students to gradually observe and understand art works,art phenomena and art concepts from a cultural perspective,understanding the relationship between art and culture,which means developing students' cultural understanding quality in high school,is not only an important teaching goal in high school art appreciation teaching,but also an important subject requiring in-depth study by art teachers.While cultivating students' cultural understanding quality,art teachers should pay attention to guide students to understand the cultural connotation and unique artistic charm of Chinese excellent traditional arts,adhere to the standpoint of Chinese culture,and strengthen cultural self-confidence.Therefore,this paper takes the traditional Chinese painting Dao Lian Tu as an example to carry out research on the art appreciation teaching for high school students based on developing students'cultural understanding quality.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,there are four parts in the paper.The first part mainly illustrates the meaning and significance of cultural understanding quality through in-depth study of the 2017 edition of high school art curriculum standards.Simultaneously,this part sorts out the relationship among cultural literacy,image reading,art expression and aesthetic judgment,builds a curriculum system that connects the goal of cultivating students' cultural understanding quality and art appreciation courses of high school,and discusses the significance of developing students' cultural understanding quality in art appreciation courses in high school.The second part mainly studies and discusses the excellent Chinese traditional culture reflected in Dao Lian Tu from four aspects:court art culture,costume culture,female culture and labor culture by using the method of literature research.The third part studies the strategies of developing the cultural understanding quality of high school students in the art appreciation curriculum,and proposes teaching strategies such as interdisciplinary teaching to construct a cultural cognition system,multiple appreciation methods to guide students to understand works,and create situations to enrich student's cultural experiences.The fourth part carries out the exploration of the teaching practice by taking Walk Into The Dao Lian Tu as a unit course for designing subjects,with the goal of developing students' cultural understanding quality.It mainly illustrates the goal,content,and process of the unit teaching,and the teaching effect of "Walk into the Dao Lian Tu.The important and difficult points of the course teaching lies in the cultivation of cultural understanding quality of students.The four traditional cultures shown in the book are displayed in front of students,guide students to understand,and complete the goal of improving students'cultural understanding through various teaching strategies.While respecting and understanding the world's diverse art culture,developing students' love and inheritance of excellent Chinese traditional art culture is a topic that requires high school art teachers to investigate constantly.I hope this paper can provide some references and ideas for researchers in the future.
