Since the reform and opening up,ancient prose,due to its unique teaching value in classical Chinese learning and cultural inheritance,has been accounting for a major proportion in the Chinese textbooks for junior high school,and carrying the increasingly important teaching contents in the advance of the times.At present,the Chinese textbooks for junior high school have been compiled by the Ministry of Education,and published by the People's Education Press,which mark the new stage of the compilation of Chinese textbooks in our country.This paper consists of four parts,including Introduction and three chapters in the body.The content of each part is summarized as follows:Introduction mainly expounds the reasons for topic choosing,the purpose of this research and relevant literature,then explains the research content,key and difficult points,and figures out the research ideas and methods,the possible innovative points and insufficiency of the research at the same time,and finally defines the relevant concepts of "Chinese textbook","selected text" and "ancient prose" involved in this research.Chapter I is mainly about the selection and compilation situation of ancient prose in the People's Education Press edition Chinese textbooks for junior high school since reform and opening up.Statistical method and literature research method are mainly used in detailed statistics and summary on the ancient prose's chapter heading,quantity,proportion,arrangement,literary form and subject matter distribution.Referring to the arrangement instruction,introduction of each unit and the exercises for ancient prose,from the perspective of students' psychological cognition ability,the classical Chinese style of ancient prose,education value,teaching content,etc.,the author analyzes the reasons and concepts of the selection and compilation situation of ancient prose in the People's Education Press edition Chinese textbooks for junior high school since reform and opening up.In Chapter II,comparative research method is the chief method for the selection and compilation tendency of ancient prose and its reasons.According to the selectionand compilation situation of ancient prose,its reasons and concepts analysis stated in Chapter II,referring to the Chinese course standards and the relevant content of textbook selection and compilation in the syllabus in the compulsory education as well as the exercises for ancient prose in the textbooks,it figures out the selection and compilation tendency of ancient prose.The social development,the change of Chinese course and concepts on textbook and the requirement of appropriateness of selecting text are the main reasons for the selection and compilation tendency of ancient prose in the People's Education Press edition Chinese textbooks for junior high school.Based on the overall selection and compilation situation of ancient prose and its concepts,selection and compilation tendency and reasons,the thinking on selection and compilation of ancient prose in the People's Education Press edition Chinese textbooks for junior high school is the major content in Chapter III.The selection and compilation situation of ancient prose in the Chinese textbooks for junior high school still needs improvement.And we should add moderately articles which present our fine traditional culture,and adjust properly the proportion of literary form and innovate arrangement,select more quality easy-to-read ancient prose,and at the same time provide specific teaching content notice in classical Chinese,article,literature and culture.
