This is a qualitative case study on factors that influence students'selection in a particular private higher education institution in Cambodia.The study aims to discover possible factors influence students' choice of a particular private higher education institution in Cambodia,understand on how those factor influence students'choice and examine what expectation students' hold from their chosen university.A qualitative case study design was used to collect data from this study.Ten students and ten students'parents in one private university were purposively selected in this study.Data were gathered through an individual semi-structured interview around twenty minutes for each participant.The interview data were transcribed and coded by group them into different categories based on themes to classify and draw conclusions.The study showed that students were influenced by nine factors-quality,reasonable or namely tuition fee,location,family,environment,scholarship,university reputation,facilities,and easier entry requirements.Five of the nine factors appeared to be the most influential factors.These included quality,reasonable or affordable tuition fees,location,family,and environment.At the same time,from the chosen institution,students also brought along with their expectations,which included degree,qualification for work,good teaching services,and a good learning environment.Most students' expectations remained unchanged,while a few changed as the result of students' disability to follow the lessons well.
