In recent years,with the ever-changing environment of tourism market,tourists demand more for the quality of tour guides.As an important force to train and transport front-line tour guides,the training ability of tour guide major in secondary vocational schools directly affects the quality of tour guides.Therefore,the research on the training of professional quality of tour guide major in secondary vocational schools is not only conducive to fundamentally improving the quality of tour guides,but also to promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the tourism market.This paper mainly studies the elements of the professional quality of tour guides and the actual quality level of tour guide students in secondary vocational school,and puts forward some feasible suggestions on how to improve their professional quality,trying to explore a set of teaching and training mode in line with the market demand.This research adopts methods such as questionnaire surveys and interviews,selects a vocational school in Shaoyang as the survey object,distributes 160 questionnaires,and obtains 150 valid questionnaires,with an effective rate of 93.8%,quantitatively and systematically analyzing the problems related to the cultivation of professional quality of secondary vocational tour guide students.And 9 people were interviewed,including the professional leader,tour guide professional teachers and operators for tourism companies in school-enterprise cooperation.The research found that the overall level of professional quality of students is low due to the lack of pertinence in the cultivation of professional quality,the unreasonable curriculum setting,the lack of practical teaching of tour guides,the inheritance of traditional teaching methods and the lack of double-qualified talents.There is still a gap between the professional quality of students and the market's requirements for the professional quality of tour guides.To this end,in light of the actual situation of tour guide major in a vocational school in Shaoyang and the problems found in the research,training suggestions were proposed from the theoretical knowledge and practical verification,which mainly involve the following four aspects.First,the curriculum system is set with professional quality as the core,and the curriculum structure is reformed.Second,take the vocational quality as the standard to improve the content of the course,and all the teaching focuses on the cultivation of vocational quality,vocational knowledge and vocational skills.Third,give full play to the backbone role of vocational schools,innovate teaching methods,and enhance learning effects.Fourth,promote the teaching staff of tour guide major,train double-qualified teachers,and strengthen teachers' teaching,practice and research capabilities.
