The spot teaching is an organizational form where by placing students in a learning environment other than the school classroom,teachers select appropriate teaching content and flexibly apply on-the-spot teaching methods to educate and teach students based on the actual teaching requirements,interest and attention of students and educational experience of teachers.It is both the highly pertinent teaching mode and an extension of indoor classroom teaching with the advantage of embodying and visualizing teaching content transformed from the abstract,broad and boring one in the classroom.The art syllabus explicitly indicates that "it is one of the purposes of art teaching that trying to develop students‘ aesthetic to improve their aesthetic ability." And the best way to achieve this goal is to have good art classes.The section of “Appreciation and Citizen” in the junior high school usually is the most overlooked part of in art teaching while knowledge is actually the most accessible to students at this stage when they are able to active learning under guidance with open mind,different from the ignorance of the primary school students and the stereotype of the high school students.In this paper,through specific practice and exploration of class where art of middle school is taught with the spot teaching mode,and the regional characteristics,taking the traditional sculpture appreciation class as the case and Dazu Stone Carvings in Chongqing as the teaching place,it deeply explored and reflected that the problems of the spot teaching in the domain of appreciation class,then to propose the related strategies and methods of solution,which provides some theoretical basses for future practical teaching of this field and further improves the practical application of the spot teaching.There are three parts in this paper.The first part is the research and understanding of theories of the spot teaching at home and abroad as well as further analysis of the teaching objectives of the spot teaching mode of art appreciation class in the middle school.According to the a new teaching mode of class,the teaching objective is supposed to be different from that of the traditional teaching mode and be more specific and more based on the condition.As the emphasis of the paper,the second part where the spot teaching is applied in the actual lesson mainly researches on the spot teaching case of the sculpture appreciation class in the middle school art teaching,including the relevant introductions and appreciation value of the Dazu Stone Carvings as the spot teaching place in this paper.Then it is analyzed that the elements of the spot teaching of the traditional sculpture appreciation class in middle school art reflect the reasons why traditional sculpture teaching leads to more stress,and the connection between the sculpture teaching in the art class and other subjects,the considerations of the teachers who is executor in classes and the development of their own abilities under the premise of the-spot teaching.In addition,there is the relevant analysis of specific teaching cases.In this chapter,taking "Record Time with Sculpture" in Art Textbook ? of Hunan version for Grade 9 as the specific case,it is conducted that the specific teaching design as well as inquiry,analysis and summary after class of on-the-spot teaching in Dazu Stone Carvings.In the third part,there are some thoughts on the spot teaching of traditional sculpture appreciation class in the middle school based on the actual lesson.For example,the teacher should design questions during teaching design in the future,create dialogues during the teaching classe,guide and listen to students,master the structure of class and develop the specific ability of the students.According to the problems that have been apparently discovered,corresponding measures and methods are proposed to improve the application of spot teaching in actual lessons.
