The incidence rate of leukemia in China is 4/100000.The number of new cases is huge every year.More than 40000 people have leukemia every year.Among them,1/2 of the newly increased children are leukemia. With the progress of medical technology, leukemia is no longer incurable disease. If children are treated with chemotherapy, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and other methods for a long time, the continuous complete remission rate of acute cell leukemia for more than 5years can reach more than 70%.With the development of technology, the cure rate of leukemia has increased, but the pressure on caregivers has not decreased.Compared with other diseases, leukemia treatment cycle is long, the condition is dangerous and difficult to control, the treatment cost is as high as 100000 or even millions, the family is overwhelmed. In recent years, with the continuous development of medical social work, more and more scholars begin to pay attention to caregivers. However, social work intervention in the care and research of children with leukemia is still in its infancy. As a hidden vulnerable group in society, social workers can play a role in alleviating the pressure of caregivers, helping them improve their ability and stimulating their confidence in life.In view of this, this study, guided by the theory of empowerment, uses case work methods to help R hospital's children caregivers of leukemia to tap their ability and confidence to deal with problems, enhance their social support, and thus reduce the pressure. In this study,65 caregivers of leukemia children in R hospital were investigated. The results showed that the caregivers were faced with great pressure, mainly from four aspects: economic pressure, psychological pressure, physical pressure and family relationship pressure. The author chooses one of the respondents whose score of caregiver stress scale is more than 7 and who voluntarily accept the intervention of social workers to study.Under the guidance of the theory of empowerment, from the three aspects of empowerment, namely, personal, interpersonal and social levels, the author uses case work techniques to intervene caregiver stress, and uses observation and interview methods to evaluate the process of the case The results were evaluated by using the caregiver stress scale and the self-developed caregiver stress pre and post assessment scale. Finally, the evaluation results show that case work intervention under the guidance of the theory ofempowerment can effectively relieve the pressure of caregivers for children with leukemia. The author constantly summarizes the experience and makes reflection in the practical research,in order to provide practical case reference and reference for social workers to intervene in the group later.
