For the past few years,with the improvement of national living standards and comprehensive quality,the monotonous and stereotyped exam-oriented education in the past no longer meets the requirements of the times.Quality education has gradually attracted the attention of all sectors of society,and new educational models such as studies travel have emerged.The Ministry of Education,the Department of Culture and Tourism Management and other 11 departments have introduced policies to promote the smooth development of studies travel,and recommend a number of studies travel destinations and pilot cities for studies travel according to local characteristics.The activity education mode of “studies” and“travel” has attracted much attention in the whole society.As the first demonstration base for studies travel activities in Hunan Province established by the state,Xiangtan City has initially established studies travel development system taking all-for-one tourism as the bearing point.The school has implemented studies travel activities in various primary and secondary schools.To further understand the current situation of the implementation of research and tourism activities in Xiangtan City,and to explore the problems in the promotion and implementation of the current research and development travel activities,242 students from 6 middle schools including Xiangtan No.1 middle school,Xiangtan Xintiandi yizhi middle school and Shaoshan experimental school are investigated by questionnaire.The questionnaire results are classified,counted,analyzed and calculated.The following conclusions are formed: First,popularity rate of students' travel activities is high,among which the number of students participating in activities is more in junior high schools and less in senior high schools.Second,Students are highly motivated to participate in the travel activities,but they have insufficient knowledge of the activities.Third,Students' demand for studies travel shows a diversified trend.On the another hand,According to the results of the questionnaire and interview,we can learn that: First,the participation of teachers is good on the whole,but the participation of the geography teachers is low.Second,Teachers' willingness to participate in activities is relatively high,but “graduation grade” teachers' willingness to participate in activities is relatively low.Third,the number of activities carried out by public schools is small and the scope of studies travel is relatively close.Forth,Academic pressure has become a common reason that hinders teachers and students from participating in the studies travel.According to the actual situation and survey results of all regions in Xiangtan city,the following strategies are proposed to solve the problems existing in the current research travel.First,update the educational concept and realize quality education.Second,clarify the essence of the studies travel activity and construct the activity curriculum model.Third,integrate disciplinary elements and improve the curriculum system.Forth,attach importance to students' academic situation and precise activities.Fifth,rely on special resources to build a research platform.Based on the results of the survey and analysis,combined with the uniquegeographical landscape of Yangmeizhou riverbank in Xiangtan City,studies travel course activities are designed to contribute to the development of the tourism industry in xiangtan city,and to provide reference materials for the related practitioners and front-line geography teachers nationwide to develop and design geography studies travel activities.
