Research On The STEM Educational Activity On The Impact Of Creative Thinking Of Kids

STEM education is an educational method that uses science,mathematics knowledge,and tools to solve problems children may encounter in their real life.It emphasizes the real questioned situation in which students can use interdisciplinary knowledge,technologies and project-oriented ways to fix their problems.It has been proved that it can cultivate students' creative thinking effectively.In this study,the experimental method was mainly used.All the children in senior 1 and senior 2 class in Y kindergarten and Z kindergarten of Ningbo were selected as the research objects.One class was chosen randomly as the experimental group,and the other class became the control group.With the study of STEM education and the textbook for the kindergarten compiled by Zhejiang Province,the author designed three STEM educational activities.Under the strict control of other variables,three activities were carried out at the two experimental groups.Tests were used to pre-test and post-test the creative thinking of all the research objects and analyzed the differences between them.The results showed that the experimental groups exhibit significant differences in the fluency,flexibility and originality in the creative thinking compared with the children in the control groups.In the dimension of excellence,the experimental class and the control groups did not show significant differences.However,at the overall level of creativity,the experimental and control groups are significantly different.Overall,the creative thinking ability of experimental children has been significantly improved,indicating that STEM education activities can promote the development of children's creative thinking.Based on the results of the research,the author puts forward the following educational suggestions: teachers should change their thoughts,and let children contact STEM education as soon as possible;STEM education is an educational way in which the processes dwarf the results,teachers should pay more attention to the project implementation processes;when they cultivate creative thinking of the children,fine atmosphere should be created;teachers should make scaffolding actions to support children's creative activities.
