With the reform of higher education system, higher education has changed from elitism to popularization, and the number of college graduates has increased year by year, which makes the relationship between supply and demand of talents change significantly. The employment of master's students has become a major livelihood issue of common concern to students, families and society. The report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly put forward that "we should adhere to the strategy of giving priority to employment and active employment policy, provide all-round public employment services, and promote multi-channel employment and entrepreneurship of College graduates",which fully reflects that the Party and the state attach great importance to the development of higher education, especially the high-quality employment of master's graduates. In this context, the employment guidance of university graduates highlights its practical significance, and the importance of the research on the employment guidance of master's graduates leaps to the fore.Firstly, based on the theory of vocational interest and career development, this paper proposes that employment guidance for graduates should be individualized according to their personality traits and the characteristics of different professional fields, and pay attention to the dynamic characteristics of individual development.Employment guidance should be planned throughout the whole process and all aspects of their learning career.Secondly, this paper chooses Huo's Chinese Vocational Interest Scale, which conforms to the characteristics of China's national conditions, culture and occupational classification system,as the research tool. The collected data are processed by spss.21 software, and the results show that it has high reliability. In order to explore the employment guidance needs of students with different vocational interests, the author compiled a questionnaire on the employment guidance needs of University master's graduates.Through the analysis of the test data and the formal test data,a higher reliability and validity were obtained. Finally, this paper chooses the master's students of a provincial key university,a local university,as the object of investigation, and chooses the students of corresponding majors as the object of study according to the principle of equivalence of the vocational interest scale. On the basis of the questionnaire survey, this paper conducts in-depth interviews with some students and employment instructors, deepening the research depth of this topic. The questionnaire data and interview data were collected and analyzed.Through statistical analysis of collected data, the following findings are found in this study: Firstly, the demand level of employment guidance for postgraduates is above the medium level, which indicates that the overall demand for employment guidance for postgraduates is relatively high.Secondly, there are significant differences in the total scores of employment guidance needs of graduate students in gender, student origin, grade and professional field. That is,the employment guidance needs of female students are higher than that of male students,of rural students are higher than that of urban students,of third-year graduate students are higher than that of Grade 1 and Grade 2 students, and of students of humanities, social sciences, management and art are higher than that of students of science and engineering.Thirdly,85% of the graduates' vocational interests are equivalent to their professional fields, which indicates that each professional field has a high degree of matching with the corresponding vocational interests.Fourthly, there are significant gender differences in the vocational interests of master's students, that is,female students scored higher than male students in realistic, investigative and enterprising vocational interests, and male students scored higher than female students in artistic, social and conventional vocational interests.Fifthly,in the place of student origin, there is no significant difference in other vocational interests except for artistic ones.Sixth,in grade, there are significant differences in realistic,investigative-oriented and conventional vocational interests among master students.Grade 2 and Grade 3 students scored higher than Grade 1 students.Seventh, there is a significant positive correlation between realistic and investigative-oriented vocational interest and the total score of employment guidance, while there is a significant positive correlation between artistic vocational interest and the skill level of instructors.Eighth, the realistic and social vocational interest has a strong predictive effect on the demand for employment guidance. The realistic vocational interest significantly positively predicts the demand for employment guidance, while the social vocational interest significantly negatively predicts the demand for employment guidance. Finally,on the basis of relevant theoretical research, combined with the results of actual survey data analysis, this paper points out the current situation and problems of employment guidance for university master's graduates in China, and puts forward countermeasures that based on the Holland's Vocational Interest Type to optimize the effect of employment guidance for master's graduates in colleges and universities in view of the existing problems.
