The rapid development of China's economy and technology has brought the flourishing development of characteristic industries.In recent years,the total demand for talents in characteristic industries has increased gradually.Besides,the demand for talent quality also has greatly improved.In the prevailing circumstanee,students in eharacteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges are faced with more employment opportunities as well as greater employment challenges.Employment guidance for students in characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges has become a topic of concern by schools and society.Based on relevant research achievements,this paper adopts the combination of theoretical research and empirical research to elaborate the current situation of employment guidance for characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges,analyze the employment psychology and employment status of students in characteristic specialty,and introduce the demand trend for talents in characteristic industries.After comparing the difference in between,this paper concludes the problems existing in the employment guidance for characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges,including the insufficient attention in higher vocational colleges,the separation of employment guidance from recruitment needs for talents by enterprises,the low professionalization of teaching staff for employment guidance,low effect of employment guidance courses,and the weak employment support to female students in characteristic specialty.Therewith this paper takes the students majored in rail transportation in Nanjing Institute of Railway Technology as the representative of characteristic specialty for empirical research.At the end of this paper 5 countermeasures and suggestions are proposed to strengthen the employment guidance for characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges,which are:attach more importance to make guarantee in full process of employment guidance for characteristic specialty,strengthen the "enterprise-oriented" employment guidance education,strengthen the construction of teaching staff in employment guidance for characteristic specialty,complete the course construction of employment guidance by establishing the employment class of"school-enterprise corporation",and adjust the employment expectation of students in characteristic specialty to strengthen the employment support to female students.The innovation of this paper lies in that the research perspective is relatively innovative.At present there are many researches on the employment guidance for students in higher vocational colleges,but few studies on the employment guidance for students in characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges.Most existing research methods are based on theoretical research,while few on empirical research.Starting from the perspective of characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges,this paper makes emphasis on the industry particularity for students in characteristic specialty,highlights the individuality from commonality,and tries to explore the employment guidance strategy for characteristic specialty in higher vocational colleges.Meanwhile the research of this paper also makes considerable contribution to the professionalization and specialization study of employment guidance for higher vocational colleges.
