Textbook construction is the right of the state and the soul-building project of talent training,which has a great influence on school education,so textbook research is of great significance.In recent years,the unified compilation of Chinese textbooks shows that they have received more attention from the state and their orientation is more important.Therefore,it is necessary to constantly improve the quality of the Chinese textbooks compiled by Ministry of Education through textbook research.From the point of view of the unity of instrumentality and humanism,the current research on the humanism of the Chinese textbooks compiled by Ministry of Education needs to be enriched.Cultivating students' patriotism spirit is one of the important connotations of the humanistic function of Chinese textbooks,and the shaping of the national image in Chinese textbooks will directly affect the cultivation of students' patriotism spirit.Therefore,this study chooses the national image as the point of penetration to study the shaping of Chinese national image in the Chinese textbooks compiled by Ministry of Education.Through literature research and precoding,we sort out and refine the natural,political,economic,cultural and national five main categories and more detailed subject subcategories of ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks presenting the national image.On this basis,the research developed a framework tool for the study of the national image of Chinese textbooks,and carried on the coding processing and critical discourse analysis to the selected articles related to the national image of China in the ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks,and then revealed the characteristics of Chinese national image from three levels: text analysis,discourse practice analysis and social practice analysis.At the level of text analysis,the natural image of China in the ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks mainly presents the characteristics of thousands of weather,magnificent mountains and rivers,and abundant land.The political image of ancient China mainly presents the characteristics of frequent wars and decaying system of selecting officials in late feudal society.The political image of modern China is mainly characterized by the struggle and revolution in humiliation and the pursuit of independence and democracy.The political image of contemporary China is mainly characterized by the establishment of socialist system,but the country is still not completely unified.China's economic image is mainly presented from the ancient economic policies and systems and the living standards of the people in various periods,but it is relatively thin.The Chinese cultural image mainly presents the profound cultural background,and the cultural products and cultural activities of each period are extremely rich in characteristics.The image of people includes not only the representative figures of national spirit who carry forward and inherit the outstanding spiritual qualities such as patriotism and rigorous scholarship,but also the images of rural people who are industrious and hospitable,but are numb and selfish in a certain period of modern times,as well as the images of ethnic minorities who are kind and hospitable and live in harmony with other nationalities.At the level of discourse practice analysis,from the perspective of intertextuality,the role of "manifest intertextuality" in the presentation of Chinese national image in the ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks is mainly to vividly and concretely depict a certain national image and add its connotation.The function of "interdiscursivity" is to expand the extension of the national image presented,through the supplement and expansion of the same theme or type of text,so that the corresponding national image is more plump and complete in front of the students.From the point of view of "power" in words,writing techniques play the role of layout in portraying the image of the country.It is relatively macroscopical,containing the power of qualitative judgment and degree of increase or decrease.Rhetoric plays the role of "meticulous carving" when portraying the image of the country.It is relatively microscopic,and the power contained is mainly the increase or decrease of the degree.At the level of social practice analysis,from the ideological point of view,the national nature,the system of regional national autonomy,the socialist core values and the relevant provisions of the Chinese Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)all have a decisive influence on the shaping of China's national image in the ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks.From the social background,the struggle between "china threat theory" and "peaceful rise ",strengthening cultural self-confidence and carrying forward excellent traditional culture in the tide of multiculturalism,the increasingly serious global environmental problems and the construction of ecological civilization all have an important influence on the shaping of Chinese national image in the ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks.But in terms of influence,the influence of ideology is significantly higher than that of social background.Finally,from the point of view of enriching and perfecting the national image in the textbook,the ministry-compiled junior high school Chinese textbooks should further strengthen the study of the selected text,optimize the structure of the selected text,and better reflect the balance,epochal and international nature of the Chinese national image.
