Howard,a famous psychologist at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University.Howard Gardner put forward the theory of multiple intelligences,the development concept of multiple intelligence theory is very similar to the current development concept of quality education in China,therefore,the introduction of multiple intelligence theory as a guide to teaching in Chinese universities,provides effective theoretical basis and guidance for the reform of college education curriculum in China,create a new diversified educational vision,The ultimate goal is to cultivate multi-intelligent talents who are good at thinking,exploring and innovating,and are good at using various intelligences to solve practical problems.Students can achieve maximum development.Through the literature method to understand the relevant knowledge of multiple intelligence theory,analyze the relationship between multiple intelligence theory and martial arts teaching,design the multiple intelligence theory as the core of martial arts teaching,select the two martial arts students of Lingnan Normal College Physics as the experiment Subject,conduct experiments,the experimental class adopts Wushu teaching guided by the theory of multiple intelligences,the control class adopts traditional Wushu teaching,and the following conclusions are drawn through mathematical statistical analysis:1.Under the guidance of multiple intelligence theory,the general course teaching of martial arts aims at constructing a new teaching model with relevant elements of the theory like its guiding ideology,teaching characteristics,teaching plan and teaching content.2.A significant difference is found after experiment between the experiment group and the contrast group,such as speech language intelligence,mathematical logic intelligence,interpersonal intelligence,body movement intelligence,music rhythm intelligence,self-cognition intelligence,and visual space intelligence.The result demonstrates the feasibility of multiple intelligences theory in enhancing student intelligence development in martial arts teaching of higher education3.As for the significant difference between the experiment group and the contrast group in both martial arts skills and theoretical scores,the paper suggests a series of multiple-intelligences-theory-based teaching methods to achieve notable improvement on student abilities like martial arts theory,movement proficiency,movement standard,movement rhythm,forcing point and field usage.The result demonstrates the practicability of multiple intelligences theory in enhancing student scores in both skills and theories in martial arts general course teaching4.Under the guidance of multiple intelligence theory,the martial arts teaching can enhance student intelligence development,martial arts skills and its relevant theoretical scores.Therefore the paper considers a high suitability of multiple intelligence theory in current martial arts teaching of higher education.
