Since the Ministry of Education put forward Opinions on Deepening the Curriculum Reform in an all-round way and Carrying out Views on Basic Tasks of Fostering Virtue Through Education,cultivating students' core literacy has become a hot topic in the field of education.Geographical practice competence,as an important part of geography discipline core literacy,plays an important role in the process of cultivating students' sound personality and gives full play to the value of subject education.Students' ability of geography practice competence is the ability of students to experience and connect with various geographical elements,and it is also the embodiment of students' subject knowledge into the reality of life.The cultivation of geography practice competence of middle school students develop in the twists and turns.Therefore,the current situation of cultivating geography practical ability of middle school students and how to effectively cultivate the geography practical ability of middle school students are worthy of deep consideration and discussion.This paper introduces the background of selected topics,research significance and research status of the thesis on the basis of lots of literature,and this paper describes the research ideas and research methods used in the thesis,clarifies the relevant concepts about geographical practice competence,and modern information technology is defined.This paper also expounds the relevant function of modern information technology on teachers and students,and the relationship between modern information technology and the cultivation of students' geographical practice competence are pointed out,and the theoretical basis of the thesis research is determined.The questionnaire survey method is used to investigate the cultivation situation of geography practice of middle school students in current education and the application of modern information technology,the application of modern information technology to the cultivation of middle school students' geographical practice competence.Based on the analysis of the survey results by Excel software,it is found that there are many problems and challenges in the current education and teaching of using modern information technology to cultivate the geography practice competence of middle school students.The main problems : Teachers 'consciousness of applying modern information technology to cultivate students' geographic practical ability is not enough;students have insufficient knowledge of geography learning and modern information technology,and poor grasp and application of modern information technology;the school does not have enough understandingof the importance of students 'geographic practical ability,and at the same time it has insufficient support for the cultivation of students' geographic practical ability.The main challenges: there is a contradiction between the needs of students and the status quo of teaching;older teachers are facing challenges in learning modern teaching techniques.Experimental method and comparative method are used to determine the object of practice,to design practical activities and to compare the effect of practice.This paper uses the PTA scale method to determine the evaluation index system to evaluate and feedback the effect of practice.Combined with the analysis results and practical effects after the survey,suggestions are made from five levels: teachers,schools,society,students and parents:Strengthen teachers' learning and application of modern information technology;the school sets up special classrooms on geography to increase the school's investment in geography;adjust the performance assessment system;enhance students' geography learning awareness and geography learning technology;enhance parents' cooperation with students in geography learning.Finally,the whole research is summarized,and the shortcomings of this research are put forward,and the future development is prospected.
