Entrepreneurial activities in China are sharply increasing.Innovation and entrepreneurship have become hot issues in the field of theory and practice.As a major concern of corporate entrepreneurship research,the choice of entrepreneurial orientation and its factors have become the focus of academia,especially within SMEs.In this study,two cases of "JINCHENG" and "HONGYUN" are the research objects,combining the methods of questionnaire with an application of fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis.Then,the choices of entrepreneurial orientation and complex mechanisms of interaction between its antecedents,such as individual entrepreneurship,organizational learning and team creativity,will be discussed further.It is a positive attempt to conduct a qualitative comparative analysis in terms of fuzzy-set(fsQCA)study within domestic SMEs.Both the service enterprise"JINCHENG" and the manufacturer "HONGYUN" show higher level of entrepreneurial orientation.Also,knowledge sharing and integration abilities,with team creativity can promote the degree of two corporate entrepreneurship.Lack of leadership is an important factor in these two kinds of enterprises on supporting organizational learning.Additionally,this study finds that there are three main types to influence entrepreneurial orientation of SMEs:(1)A higher level of entrepreneurial risk preference,multilevel knowledge transfer and absorption,an effective leadership,promote the cultivation of team creativity,further forming a high degree of entrepreneurial orientation in small enterprises like "JINCHENG".(2)A higher level of entrepreneurial integrity,strong creativity and execution of team members urge the manufacturers like "HONGYUN" to form an aggressive entrepreneurial orientation.(3)Collective innovative spirit of TMT and lack of openness,constructing an acceptable business goal,facilitating the timely dissemination of knowledge channels,improving the team creativity,contribute to the formation of more aggressive entrepreneurial orientation of SMEs like "HONGYUN".In this study,there is an application of configuration method based on fuzzy sets(fsQCA),to build different levels of entrepreneurial orientation.Meanwhile,it clearly shows that the complex and diverse processes of a rational qualitative comparative analysis.It enriches and contributes to related theories of entrepreneurial orientation of SMEs,explaining the mechanism of antecedent conditions.As managerial implications,this research provides specific suggestions for leaders to achieve a higher level of entrepreneurial orientation,and enables enterprises to focus on team creativity.
