The last year of the Western Jin Dynasty, the people who established the Cheng Han regime had left from the six counties of Qin Yong for the south and arrived in Shu.The relationship between the refugees and the aborigines of Bashu becomes an important factor affecting the survival of the Cheng Han regime and the situation of Bashu, and this relationship changes with different policies when safeguard their own interests in different conditions.Generally, the relationship between the refugees and the aborigines of Bashu varies from opposition to cooperation. The beginning is the most obvious and intense stage of this relationship.Aborigines in Bashu are unable to counterbalance the refugees because the increasing refugees gradually unite to form a refugee group of six counties of Qin Yong, and they dominated the core regime when Li Xiong ruled the Cheng Han Dynasty. To stabilize the situation,Li Xiong adopted a policy of pleasing refugees but never give them the real power. As a result, tensions had eased. After Li Xiong's death, the refugee group experienced internal muddledness during the reign of Li Ban and Li Qi.During this time, the aborigines seize the opportunity and rise their status. The Cheng Han Dynasty had eventually became a coalition regime of both refugees and the aborigines after Li Shou united aboriginal killed Li Qi and usurp the throne. In this period, the aborigines who established their official career in the Cheng Han Dynasty increased, and many of them are powerful officials and trusted by Li Shou. However, the confrontation and the union are always interwoven. In the beginning period, the cooperation with the group of outstanding families of Bashu which represented as Zhao Xin disintegrated by contradiction of the refugees and the aborigines. In the period of Li Shou's rule,The refugees and the aborigines have cooperated, but the two sides have different opinions. The aborigines are very dissatisfied with the refugees, the refugees have encroached on the aboriginal land, and deprive the aborigines of their political rights. These contradictions make it difficult that the aboriginal and the refugees to cooperate.Li Shou uses surrender as a condition.Until Huan Wen started to send forces to suppress Cheng Han,the aborigines think it should be capitulation, and Cheng Han regime was finished.
