A Report On The Translation Practice Of Stobnikov And Petrova's "Translation Theory"

Translation theory is a necessary knowledge reserve for every translator in the process of learning.It guides the activities of translation practice and makes translators understand the essence,characteristics and methods of translation more clearly.Only by learning theory well can translation be better served.This paper is a practical report on the translation from Russian to Chinese.The translation materials are selected from the translation theory by Stobnikov and Petrova.This book is a textbook compiled by these two professors for students of translation and foreign language and literature.This translation practice can provide readers with a more comprehensive knowledge of translation theories,and translators can also strengthen their learning of translation theories in the process of translation.By analyzing the difficulties in translation of translation theory,the author summarizes the corresponding solutions,including the translation of terms,names and titles,as well as the use of different translation methods,namely,subtraction,transliteration,literal translation and syntactic analysis of the translated materials.Through this translation practice,the author has improved his translation level,expanded his scope of knowledge while translating,better realized the combination of theory and practice,and laid a solid foundation for future study and work.
