The English-Chinese translation materials are selected from chapters 3 to 6 of an education research report Assessing Learning Outcomes-Lessons from AACU's Value Project published by AAC&U,which introduces the assessment mechanism of undergraduate education in the United States,as well as the development and practical application of this mechanism. When dealing with different problems encountered in translation, such as the translation of attributive clauses and long and difficult sentences, the translator adopts communicative translation strategies, analyzes them through sentence separation, and mainly uses the domestication methods, the literal translation method and the free translation method to deal with the translation. This paper analyzes the problems encountered in translation from the perspective of discourse and the differences between Chinese and Western modes of thinking. These strategies helps us to solve the problem of incoordination between Chinese and English, and provides some reference for the translation of similar texts in the future.
