From Awa Mountain To Rushan

Since the reform and opening up,the exchanges between the frontier areas of southwest China and the hinterland have become closer and closer.Wa women living in the Wa mountain area of Yunnan began to move out of the mountains and into the inland areas,especially the eastern coastal areas,by means of marriage migration.This large-scale,long-distance and uprooted population movement is the result of many factors and can reflect the social and cultural changes of ethnic minorities.In this paper,Wa matrimonial women living in rural areas of Rushan city,Shandong province were studied by qualitative and quantitative methods.The main contents are as follows:first,from the perspective of the moving place and the moving place,this paper analyzes the reasons of marriage and moving,and points out that the reasons include not only economic differences and social and cultural factors,but also women's own ideological factors.Secondly,from the four aspects of economic adaptation,cultural adaptation,psychological adaptation and behavioral adaptation,this paper discusses the life adaptation of married women,and notes their subjective feelings.Generally speaking,they are relatively satisfied with their current life.Third,focusing on the whole,this paper discusses the influence of the phenomenon of marriage migration and the reasons for the phenomenon's decrease in Rushan in the new era,and summarizes the changes in the marriage choice of Wa female floating population in recent decades.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.Since the 1980s,mass marriage of Wa women to Shandong is an inevitable trend and a specific phenomenon in a special historical period;From 2010 or so,this kind of marriage phenomenon is also an inevitable trend,is a common phenomenon in the new era.2.The older generation of married women are "hidden Wa",the status of integration into the flowing land is poor,the backward force is insufficient,their descendants are mostly engaged in non-agricultural production;The new generation of married women is more integrated,"invisible" but not "hidden",more active and creative.3.From the perspective of the flow of minority women,it reflects China's great achievements in market development,women's education,ethnic equality and unity,new rural construction,poverty alleviation in border areas and other aspects.In the future,the phenomena of interracial marriage and interprovincial marriage migration still exist,but they are more widely distributed.
