| Problems arising from rural middle school music teaching have imposed great challenges on the health growth and comprehensive development of rural students.Accordingly,we need to stress this situation and take prompt actions.Some experts and scholars have also given their attention,exploring this issue from different perspectives and finally attaining theoretical and practical achievements.But there is still room for further research.This paper first investigates the state quo of rural middle schools and their teaching.Through the survey,it has been found that the problems rural middle schools are facing are mainly about little emphasis from leadership,teachers and parents,weak faculty including inadequate teacher and low professional qualities,incomplete teaching equipment,the shortage of teaching funding,unsatisfied hands-on environment for students ’ music learning,students ’ bad academic performance,and unsound assessment and evaluation mechanism for music teaching.Reasons focus on the following three aspects:Schools have insufficient awareness of the importance of music curriculum,unadvanced music teaching ideas,and obscure teaching goals;Students have incorrect learning attitudes and little interest in learning;Parents commit deviations in subjunctive understanding and fail to access enough objective conditions.This paper puts forward some countermeasures to improve rural middle school music teaching.Firstly,increase people’s awareness of its importance.Specifically speaking,leaders of all levers need to deepen their understanding of music education and parents’ prejudice should also be changed.Secondly,strengthen the faculty construction in rural middle schools.That is to say,we can recruit a group of college graduates majoring in music,encourage students to give teaching-assistance to rural middle schools,enhance the training of current music teachers,help music teachers change their traditional teaching concept,recommend music teachers to champion bold reforms in teaching modes,and upgrade those teachers’ social status and treatment.Thirdly,increase the investment in the music education among rural middle schools.Namely,we need to improve the basic teaching infrastructure and further supervise the use of the funds.Fourthly,create a good music education platform,including building a“music corridor" on campus,carrying out rich and colorful cultural activities and establishing sound rules and regulations for music teaching.Fifthly,cultivate students’ interest in learning music,including developing a harmonious relationship between teachers and students,adopting scientific teaching methods,inspiring students to learn music courses well and helping students to eliminate the psychological barrier. |
