A Study On The Content Of Primary School Chinese Textbooks In Daily Life

The new curriculum reform stipulates to strengthen the connection between curriculum content and students' life.Textbook is the most direct way to articulate curriculum content,so it is of vital importance whether the textbook is life-oriented or not.Chinese Primary school textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education will be used all over the country and will make profound influence.The analysis of life-orientation in Chinese Primary school textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education can help to identify problems,thus proposing corresponding optimization strategy.Moreover,it is of great importance to promote the healthy growth of students in the life situation.In this study,the volume 1,2,and 3 of Chinese primary school textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education were selected as the research object.Methods used in this study contain content analysis,text analysis and documentary study.Based on the existing research and the research scope and characteristics of this study,analytical framework,analysis dimension and the standard of life-oriented content of this research are determined.Using the standard of life-oriented conten of reliability and validity,the author analyzes the text content,after-reading practice,Chinese garden,happy reading,oral communication and illustrations.The study found that about 70% content of the volume 1,2,and 3 of Chinese primary school textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education shows life-orientation.Among them,Chinese pinyin and "happy reading" has the highest degree of life-orientation,which is 100 percent.That is,all the pinyin and "happy reading" are life-orientation.For the others,the illustration takes up 91 percent,oral communication takes up 83 percent,literacy takes up 82 percent,ancient poetry takes up 75 percent,text and Chinese garden both take up 63 precent,and after-reading exercise takes up 12 percent.Although the textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education conform to the concept of life basically,but there are still several problems remain: the content of life orientation is not rich enough and not balance enough,did not reflect the real life world of students,adult tendency and apart from student life,part of the presentation is not life-orientation.And the author put forward the following optimization strategy: broaden the universality of life-oriented content,improve the balance of life-oriented content,strengthen the authenticity of life-oriented content,enhance the flexibility of presentation of life-oriented content,raise teachers' awareness of life-orientation.Through the above suggestions,hope to provide some reference value for optimizing textbooks.And improve the level that textbooks relate to students' life and the utilization efficiency of life-oriented content of textbook.
