With the accelerating process of urbanization in China, the group of new citizens' children in our country is also growing.According to the domestic survey, due to the deviation of self-identity,new citizens' children have negative emotions in adapting to the city's learning and life.Self identity is a fundamental problem affecting the development of new citizens' children. The lack of self-identity will have a negative impact on the physical and mental health of new citizens' children. Therefore,we cannot ignore the self-identity of new citizens' children,a vulnerable group. This paper introduces the background of new citizen's children's self-identity dilemma, discusses the significance of the research, summarizes the relevant literature about social work's involvement in new citizen's children's self-identity,and expounds the research methods of this paper based on the concept of new citizen and new citizen's children and self-identity.The self-identity of new citizens' children, who are studying in Y middle school,is investigated by means of questionnaire and interview. It is found that new citizens' children have some common characteristics in self-identity dilemma: confusion of self role, low sense of self-worth,weak willingness and motivation of self change.Combined with the results of questionnaire, interview, the author's observation and the teacher's recommendation, the author selects Xiaoyu as a case to intervene.Through further interview and observation, the author also finds out the causes of Xiaoyu: the new citizen's children's irrational cognition makes her integrate into the new environment, resulting in conflict behavior, limited family conditions, fast learning rhythm of the school, and society District's neglect and incomplete policies hinder her from realizing self-identity.In view of Xiaoyu's problems, the author uses home visits, talks and other ways to carry out case intervention, and provides services to the case owner under the cognitive behavior mode.By correcting the unreasonable cognition of the case owner, the author solves the self-identity crisis from the parent-child relationship,teacher-student relationship and peer relationship, builds a good sense of self-identity,and helps the new citizens' children effectively solve the problem of self-identity.The research results show that the case work intervention has achieved good results, and the cognitive behavior theory can effectively help new citizens' childrencorrect their unreasonable cognitive and problem behaviors, and establish a good sense of self-identity.Finally,the author also summarizes and reflects on the content of the study. The self-identity dilemma of new citizens' children is a big social problem, which can not be solved only by social work. The author calls for the efforts of schools, communities, governments and other parties to solve the problem.
