Chinese characters are not only a simple symbol system to record Chinese, but also an important part of Chinese culture, which contains rich cultural information.Literacy teaching is the basis of primary school students' learning and an important teaching content throughout the whole compulsory education stage.Nowadays,Chinese culture has been paid more attention to again.Integrating Chinese culture into literacy teaching will help to stimulate students' interest in literacy, cultivate students' emotion of loving Chinese language and characters, and improve students' cultural literacy. However,in today's literacy teaching process, teachers have formed a teaching method to guide students' literacy by teaching the sound, form and meaning of Chinese characters. This teaching method greatly ignores the cultural attribute of Chinese characters and separates the relationship between Chinese characters and culture. From the perspective of Chinese character culture, literacy teaching will provide us with more abundant materials and wider space to combine the knowledge, culture and interest of literacy teaching, guide students to understand the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, touch the pulse of the ancients, and appreciate the common life emotion of the nation. How to do this work well should be the subject that every Chinese teacher constantly explores. This study takes Chinese character culture as a foothold, and uses literature research, text analysis, questionnaire, interview and classroom observation to investigate the literacy teaching situation of the lower primary school students from the perspective of Chinese character culture.First of all,on the basis of combing the previous research results, this paper discusses the cultural connotation, specific performance, the relationship between Chinese culture and literacy teaching,as well as the Chinese culture contained in the new characters in the Chinese textbooks for the lower grades of primary schools compiled by the Ministry.Thirdly,we combine teachers' questionnaires, interviews and classroom teaching fragments to investigate and analyze the problems of literacy teaching in lower primary school from the perspective of Chinese character culture. At present, there are the following problems in the literacy teaching in the lower grades of primary schools: the teachers have different knowledge and practice in the literacy teaching of Chinese culture;the goal of literacy teaching is more instrumental than humanistic;the content of literacy teaching is more emphasis on pronunciation and strokes, less excavation of Chinese culture;the teaching method of literacy emphasizes interest, lack of science;the teaching method of integrating Chinese culture into literacy teaching is single. In view of the problems, through interviewswith teachers and the results of questionnaire survey,it is found that the reasons that affect the literacy teaching in the lower grades of primary schools from the perspective of Chinese character culture lie in the shortage of teachers' Chinese character cultural knowledge reserve and teaching awareness, the restriction of school teaching evaluation and training, and the insufficient development of literacy teaching resources related to Chinese character culture. On this basis, this paper discusses the strategies to promote the literacy teaching in the primary school from the perspective of Chinese character culture: first, teachers should establish the concept of Chinese character culture teaching,so that literacy teaching has cultural depth;second, improve the school literacy teaching evaluation system and training,so that literacy teaching has cultural temperature;finally, integrate multiple teaching resources,so that literacy teaching has cultural breadth.
