Coming into knowledge economy era,talents become the most important resource and the core competitiveness of enterprises.It becomes the key to improve the efficiency and enhance core competitiveness by knowing how to take effective measures to motivate staff,to arouse staffs working enthusiasm and working efficiency.Needs are internal conditions resulting in motivation,while incentives stimulate people.Therefore,it is a vital premise to understand the staff needs before motivating them.In terms of how to improve the effect of Incentives,with the ERG theory in need theory as the break through point,this paper takes a deep analysis in case study.Based on HX Gas Co as the research object,starting from the employee incentive status,this paper analyzes the existing problems and causes of the company's incentives with interviews and questionnaires.It comes to a result that there is an obvious difference in employee's needs in levels of Existence,Relatedness and Growth.Then based on the ERG theory,investigations are taken to analyze employee needs from the above three levels.Measuring the importance and satisfaction of each employee needs respectively,this paper constructs a need matrix according to the high and low degree and its collocation,thus determining the leading needs of employees in the company,and puts forward some improving strategies from the existence needs and growth needs and the relatedness needsThrough the research of HX Gas Co,it draws the following conclusion:the effective incentives measures should be based on employee needs as the starting point.By fully understanding staff needs,it makes sense and can achieve the desired effect to take incentive measures.Meanwhile,as the HX Gas Co and the company's background are quite normal in energy industry,this research has some referential significance to the similar enterprises.
