Research On Input-output Efficiency Of Resource-based Enterprises In Western China

Since the reform and opening up in the last century,resource-based enterprises,as one of the traditional enterprises in China,have made important contributions to the rapid economic growth of our country.From 2012 to 2016,the total output value of resource-based enterprises in the western region maintained an average annual growth rate of 5.89%,but it cannot be ignored that the development of resource-based enterprises in the western region still has some practical problems,such as low technical efficiency,excessive waste of resources,unbalanced industrial structure,and increasingly prominent contradictions with the environment.In addition,with the increasingly fierce competition and the complex and changeable external market environment,the competitiveness of Western resource-based enterprises,which rely on natural resources as one of their core competitiveness,has been continuously declining in the existing market,and their competitive advantage has been gradually weakening,so the market competition has become increasingly weak.And making full use of resources,reducing waste and improving the efficiency of input and output of enterprises play an important role in improving the competitiveness and maintaining the competitive advantage of resource-based enterprises in Western China.This paper uses three-stage DEA model to measure the input-output efficiency of resource-based enterprises in the western region from 2012 to 2016,and deeply analyses the reasons for the efficiency differences of resource-based enterprises in the western provinces.In terms of research contents:(1)First of all,the concept of resource-based enterprises is defined,the relevant theories and evaluation methods of efficiency at home and abroad are sorted out,and the factors affecting input-output efficiency of resource-based enterprises are analyzed;(2)Secondly,the current development status and problems faced by resource-based enterprises in Western China are analyzed;(3)Introduced three-stage DEA model and DEA-Malmquist productivity index method,constructed the input-output efficiency evaluation systemof Western resource-based enterprises,and verified the rationality of the selected variables;(4)Using three-stage DEA model to measure the input-output efficiency of Western resource-based enterprises in 2012-2016,analyzed their production modes,and through efficiency correlation analysis.And the difference test to verify the three-stage DEA model calculation results are true or not;(5)Finally,based on the empirical analysis results,draw conclusions,and put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.Through this study,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Without considering the impact of environmental factors and random errors,there will be a trend of overestimation of technological efficiency value of resource-based enterprises in Western China,and found that the main reason for the low technological efficiency of resource-based enterprises in Western China is the low scale efficiency.(2)Regression analysis of SFA model with input relaxation variable as explanatory variable and environment variable as explanatory variable shows that the increase of technological innovation level and openness to the outside world will reduce the production of relaxation variable,and the improvement of economic development level and infrastructure level will increase the production of relaxation variable.In addition,the improvement of human capital level will reduce the number of enterprises slack,increase the average number of employee slack and total assets slack.(3)Pearson correlation test of technical efficiency and output variables before and after adjustment shows that the efficiency values measured after adjustment of input have higher correlation with output variables;T test of paired samples shows that there are obvious differences in efficiency values before and after adjustment.(4)Most resource-based enterprises in western provinces are in a good production mode of "high input and high efficiency" and "low input and high efficiency".(5)Selecting the adjusted input and output variable data,using Malmquist productivity index analysis,it is found that technological progress plays a dominant role in the improvement of total factor productivity of Western resource-based enterprises.
