Land is the foundation of human survival and development,and the most fundamental input factor in the process of agricultural production.Land resources are the most basic natural resources related to human survival.Agricultural land resources are the most important part of land resources and play a decisive role in food production.The total area of cultivated land in China is large while the average cultivated land area is small.The land problem,especially the cultivated land problem,is an important factor restricting the development of agriculture and even national economy in China.With the development of industrialization and urbanization,a large number of cultivated land is used for non-agricultural construction,which makes the cultivated land resources in China less and less.In this context,it is of great significance to study the efficiency of agricultural land use and analyze its influencing factors,and explore ways to improve the efficiency of agricultural land use.Firstly,in the introduction part,this paper introduces the background and significance of this study,defines the relevant concepts clearly,combs the relevant literature at home and abroad,and lays the foundation for this study.Then,in the first chapter,the theoretical basis of this paper is elaborated,including the theory of scale economy,the theory of diminishing returns to scale,the theory of intensive land use and the theory of sustainable land use,as well as the input-output system model of agricultural land.The effects of labor input,agricultural production conditions and economic development level on the efficiency of agricultural land use are also introduced.Then in the second chapter,the conditions of agricultural development and the present situation of agricultural land utilization in China are introduced,including the cultivated land area,cultivation conditions,labor force conditions and economic conditions.The present situation of agricultural land utilization in China is simply measured by single factor productivity,and compared with that in other countries.In the third chapter,the DEA method and its applicability in calculating land use efficiency are introduced firstly.Then the evaluation system of land use efficiency is constructed with the input index of cultivated land area,fertilizer application amount,total power of agricultural machinery and agricultural practitioners,and the output index of total agricultural output value.The comprehensive efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of agricultural land use in 30 provinces of China from 2001 to 2016 were calculated by DEA model.Then,the inter-group and intra-group comparisons were madein the eastern,central,western and northeastern regions.In the fourth chapter of the paper,we take the calculated value of agricultural land use efficiency as dependent variable,and use Tobit model to make regression analysis on the influencing factors of three kinds of agricultural land use efficiency in different regions.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: 1.The value of agricultural land use efficiency in China is small as a whole,and the utilization of agricultural land is at a low level.From the perspective of the change of agricultural land use efficiency,from2001 to 2016,the comprehensive efficiency and pure technical efficiency of agricultural land use in China showed an upward trend,but the scale efficiency did not improve significantly.Regionally,the efficiency of agricultural land use in the eastern part of China is higher than that in other regions,but there are great differences in the central and Western regions,especially in the central and Western regions,where the efficiency of agricultural land use scale is more discrete.Although the average value of agricultural land use efficiency in Northeast China is not much different from that in Midwest China,its dispersion degree is relatively small.2.The Tobit model is used to regression the influencing factors of agricultural land use efficiency in China.The results show that there are significant differences among the influencing factors in different regions.Generally speaking,the factors that have a positive impact on China's agricultural land use efficiency are the effective irrigation efficiency,the amount of plastic film used in agriculture,and the average net income in rural areas.We can further improve China's agricultural land use efficiency from these aspects.Aging has a significant negative impact on the efficiency of agricultural land use in China,indicating that the aging of the rural population has hindered the improvement of the level of agricultural land use,which is a problem we should pay attention to in agricultural development.Finally,according to the conclusions of this paper,the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,including strengthening investment in agricultural science and technology,promoting agricultural modernization,improving agricultural cultivation conditions,improving the efficiency of agricultural land use by improving irrigation facilities and strengthening irrigation and water conservancy construction,implementing the policy of benefiting farmers and promoting farmers' income.And strengthen agricultural mechanization investment,reduce the negative impact of the decline of the physical strength of the elderly labor force on the efficiency of agricultural land use.
