In this paper,the Z enterprise that I studied is a miniature of small and medium enterprises in China.Due to lack of enterprise risk management,the development strategy of Z enterprise was failure,finally,it caused business failure.One hand I reviewed the development history of Z enterprise,based on start-up period,growth period,mature period and recession period;the other hand I reviewed the development strategy of Z enterprise,according to enterprise vision,strategic goals,business strategy and functional strategy.Therefore,I got the direct and indirect reasons of Z enterprise business failure,and analyzed the root reason that was lack of effective enterprise risk management in the development strategy.Then,I summed up experience and lessons,besides,proposed the enlightenment for familiar enterprises.According to the paper,I got several conclusions.Firstly,enterprise development strategy needs enterprise risk management to escort,thus ensures the feasibility and continuity of specific strategy.Secondly,enterprise should formulate organizational structure including human resource and risk management,and cultivate risk management consciousness of founders in start-up period.Thirdly,enterprise should create an enterprise vision that conforms to the development direction in the future;increase the management quality of shareholders and core staff,and help them to grow up with enterprise in growth period.Fourthly,enterprise should strengthen the management of functional strategy,avoid overstaffed situation to generate risks in mature period.Fifthly,enterprise should control the risks of core positions in family business,especially become a family business in recession period;beware moral risk and ability risk.The last,nodes of enterprise risk occurrence should be in accordance with the appointed time,not expected time at the latest.
