| Urbanization is the way of modernization and the biggest engine of China's future economic development.Under the background of the impact of many social problems caused by the traditional urbanization model and the background of the “new normal” of China's economy,we must change our thoughts to realize the new type of urbanization with people-oriented connotative growth,and constantly improve the quality of urbanization development.As the primary driving force of development,innovation can continuously improve the quality of urbanization and achieve sustainable and high-quality development by promoting the continuous improvement of the level of urban economic development,improving the efficiency of urban economic development and accelerating the process of integrated and coordinated urban and rural development.At the same time,as the advanced form of urban development and the main carrier of new urbanization and innovative activities,urban agglomeration will lead the development of urbanization quality in China.This paper takes 28 prefecture-level cities of the Yangtze river middle reaches urban agglomeration as the research object,selects and constructs the evaluation index system of regional innovation capacity and urbanization quality under the guidance of relevant theories of urbanization and innovation activities along with summarizing and clarifying the research results of scholars.Based on the evaluation index system,entropy method is implemented to study the the current situation of the selected 28 cities' regional innovation capacity and urbanization quality in the duration from 2009 to 2017.On the basis of the above measurement,the coupling coordination model is used to measure the degree of coordinated development of each prefecture-level city and analyze its spatio-temporal variations.At length,the Geographically Weighted Regression is implemented to an empirical analysis of the driving factors affecting the degree of coordinated development.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The overall level of innovation capacity of urban agglomerations is low,and the quality of urbanization is at a medium level.Besides that,the level of the innovation capacity and urbanization quality has risen to a certain extent,and the development gap within the region is narrowing.(2)The overall coordinated development degree of the innovation ability and urbanization quality is at a low to moderate level,but the overall development level maintains a good upward trend and develops towards regional equilibrium.At the same time,there is a certain spatial correlation,and the "siphon effect" occurs during the development of the core cities of the urban agglomeration shows a negative spatial correlation.Most cities have experienced a situation where innovation capability lags behind urbanization,and there is a strong correlation between the coordinated development degree of each city and it's urban scale.(3)According to the degree of influence,the driving factors that influence the coordinated development degree of regional innovation ability and urbanization quality are government power,economic foundation,market power,economic extroversion level and informationization level,and the distribution of driving factors has obvious regional differences.Based on the current analysis,this paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions from two perspectives.On the one hand,the regional innovation ability of urban agglomeration should be improved and innovation-driven development strategy should be promoted.On the other hand,the core concept of “people-oriented” should be kept in mind during the process of urbanization and constantly improve the quality of urbanization development.We should implement the strategy of innovation-driven development by promoting the coordinated development of regional innovation capacity and urbanization to achieve high-quality development of urbanization. |
