This report is based on the on-site consecutive interpreting of the two Chinese tea culture experience classes.It analyzes the interpreter’s performance in the culture experience classes under the guidance of Gile’s Effort Model.This report is composed of four parts.The first part is task description,which introduces the task background,linguistic features of the source text,the target audience and the entruster’s requirements.The second part briefly describes the interpreting process,including pre-interpreting preparations,on-site interpreting,as well as post-interpreting review.The third part is concerned with the conceptual framework of Gile’s Effort Model and case analysis in terms of Listening,Note,Memory,and Production,illustrating the specific difficulties and challenges encountered in the interpretation,illustrating how to reasonably apply the Gile’s Effort Model and coping tactics such as speculation and simplification to improve the quality of interpretation.The fourth part is conclusion,summarizing the gains of this interpretation practice and post-translation reflection,and putting forward some suggestions on the consecutive interpreting practice of culture experience class. |
