Schema theory is a psychological cognitive process in which the knowledge we already have in our mind activates new knowledge.The teaching content in the primary stage is relatively basic and comprehensive,which is the key stage for learners to learn language knowledge and master language skills.In the elementary Chinese comprehensive course,the indispensable tool for teachers to carry out teaching activities is the elementary Chinese comprehensive textbook.The application of schema theory to the compilation and application of comprehensive textbooks for elementary Chinese as a foreign language can help learners improve their learning efficiency and stimulate their inner potential.Schema theory is of guiding significance to the structure setting and content arrangement of teaching materials.Schema theory can activate,monitor and reconstruct students’ mastery of new knowledge in learning.Therefore,the application of schema theory in the compilation and use of textbooks can provide a new way of thinking for elementary Chinese comprehensive textbooks.The article selects the series of teaching materials Developing Chinese and Boya Chinese,based on schema theory to analyse the first textbooks of primary synthesis in the textbooks:Developing Chinese elementary comprehensive Ⅰ and Boya Chinese junior started Ⅰ.The article makes a comparison in the structure setting and contents of different sections.The structure is divided into three parts: unit setting,course structure and auxiliary materials.The content of different sections is divided into auxiliary language,words,text,grammar,practice these five parts.Through comparison,we can analyze the differences and characteristics of the structure and content arrangement of different textbooks,and the arrangement under the schema theory is more in line with the cognitive law of learners,and can improve the learning efficiency of learners.Therefore,this paper provides some suggestions on the structure and content of the textbook based on the comparison results.In terms of the overall structure,the compilation of textbooks should be complete in structure and conform to the process of learners’ schematic construction of new knowledge,from easy to difficult.The whole writing framework should be carried out in three stages: activating,constructing and consolidating the schema.In terms of content,the different links of each lesson should be connected and the input of different types of schema should be reasonably arranged.At the same time,for the sake of the schemata theory applied to the teaching material of writing,from the application level,the paper discusses the specific textbook improvement methods,to write a really suitable for elementary Chinese learners’ comprehensive teaching material provides the rationalization suggestion based on schema theory. |
