Marx And Engels’ Thought Of Urban-rural Relations And Its Contemporary Value

Marx and Engels’ thought of urban-rural relations is an important part of Marxist social development theory,and Marx and Engels formed the thought of urban-rural relations under the background of the first industrial revolution of European capitalism.The study of Marx and Engels’ thought of urban-rural relations is of great theoretical and practical significance to further understand the historical context of the development of urban-rural relations in capitalist society,to grasp the historical trend of the changing development of urban-rural relations,and to make better use of Marx and Engels’ proposed path method of realizing urban-rural integration to guide the current chinese society to solve the problem of urban-rural development imbalance and inadequate agricultural rural development.In addition to the introduction,this paper is divided into the following four parts:The first part mainly discusses the historical background and theoretical origin of Marxism Friedrich Engels’s thought on urban-rural relationship.The first industrial revolution was the era in which Marxism Friedrich Engels’s thought on urban rural relations was born,accelerated by the urbanization of Western European capitalist societies under the influence of big machine production.The city gradually becomes the social resources concentrated place,has the population gathering,the industrial and commercial prosperity,the transportation developed,the infrastructure consummation main characteristic.In contrast,the countryside was relatively backward,impoverished,and closed.Against this background,Marxism Friedrich Engels saw the urban rural conflict caused by the industrial revolution,draw on the Utopian Socialism Tomas Maurs,Schally Fourier,Robert Owen on the elimination of urban and rural contradictions,the construction of an Ideal Society Governance Program;Draw on the classical economist Adam on the formation of rural-urban relations and the evolution of the law;Chemist Justus von Liebig’s restitution theory also played a role in the formation of Marxism Friedrich Engels’s ideas on urban rural relations.Based on the social reality,historical materialism’s thought on urban-rural relationship has been developing and maturing.The second part expounds the main content of Marx and Engels’ thought of urban-rural relations.Marx and Engels systematically explained the evolutionary law of urban-rural relations from the same urban-rural to urban-rural separation and confrontation to the integrated development of urban and rural areas from the point of view of productivity and division of labor.Later,with the increase of productivity,agriculture and industry and commerce gradually separated,coupled with the impact of private ownership,urban-rural relations towards separation.On the one hand,the separation of urban and rural areas leads directly to the widening gap between urban and rural areas,the destruction of the ecological environment and the abnormal and one-sided development of human beings,on the other hand,it also promotes the transformation of production relations,the breadth and depth of commodity exchange changes and the generation of political civilization.In order to eliminate the negative impact of the separation of urban and rural areas,Marx and Engels made a useful exploration of the ways to achieve urban-rural integration from the perspective of vigorously developing productive forces,eliminating private ownership and the old division of labor,and promoting the overall development of human beings.The third part deeply analyzes the main problems in the development of urban-rural relationship in China,such as the unbalanced development between urban and rural areas,the big gap,the unreasonable flow of urban and rural factors,and the insufficient development of agricultural and rural areas.Guided by Marxism Friedrich Engels’s thought on the relationship between urban and rural areas,aiming at promoting the all-round liberation and development of people,promoting the new type of urbanization and realizing the revitalization and integrated development of rural areas,taking the liberation and development of the productive forces as the means,and on the premise of China’s actual conditions,this paper puts forward some feasible suggestions on breaking the dual pattern of urban and rural areas and realizing the integrated development of urban and rural areas.Marxism Friedrich Engels’s thought on urban and rural relations is rich in connotation and profound in significance.Studying Marxism Friedrich Engels’s thought on the relationship between urban and rural areas in the new era to solve the current difficulties and challenges of unbalanced development between urban and rural areas and inadequate development of agricultural and rural areas in China,and to promote the construction of a new type of urbanization,it is of great theoretical value and practical significance to realize the rejuvenation of rural areas.
